My mother found drafts of suicide notes I had written...

... back when I was 18 or something (i.e. 5 years ago), and I was all emo and stuff.

Now, they were supposedly letters to a friend, and they were in an old notebook of mine. I find it extremely disrespectful that she read something that was originally written to someone else, and it's not like it was laying around the house or anything. She actually took the notebook of mine from my stuff and wondered whether she could recycle it or something. And that's the third time it happens (the 1st one happened when I was 10 years old, and the 2nd time was just a letter I wrote to my father in case my grandparent died - knowing how they were close - but he ended up reading it years before grandpa passed away).

As you can infer from this post, I didn't commit suicide, and those were actually therapeutic rants. However, there she is, completely depressed (or so it seems), because I said I hated her or something in those letters. Serves her right for reading what she shouldn't.

my mom likes to go through my notebooks and shit and then everything she finds that has something about her or just me being emo, she keeps, i was looking for a letter to my friend i had wrote (contained a lot of drug stuff lol) and i never found it until one day i was in her closet looking for a hoodie when i found about 50 sheets of paper i had written

I have had tons of crazy things happen like that too and don't appreciate my mother much for her behavior.

Once I come home with friends and my mother freaks out. I had written down the lyrics to a very vulgar rap song and tore it up and trashed it. She found it and put it back together with my sister's help!!!! wtf!!! I was so embarassed and angry.

i thought about suicide but it is the cowards way out, even if u are a fucking emo.

next time if u aint gunna kill urself, get rid of the notes

or do it in word, none of the pen and paper shit

if i got as far as writing the notes, id probably execute my plan pretty soon after i wrote them, otherwise why bother write the notes?

tricky situation there lira...but you're a smart guy, i'm sure you can convince your mom that you weren't serious and that you're fine now


something i've never understood about suicide in general is why people even resort to it in the first place?

i mean...i would just assume most of the time it's because of depression or whatever right? well i think mood comes from the situation you are in in life. if you're not happy with your situation...wouldn't you rather try to improve your situation then kill yourself?

example...

let's say you are depressed because you live in this shitty house, you don't have a job, and you are flat broke.

well wouldn't you rather rob a bank or something then to actually kill yourself? sure it's not in the best interest of humanity, but if you're going to kill yourself...what do you care about the rest of the world anyway? at least then you would maybe have a shot at improving your life right?

Weird,

I was about to start a thread couselling people to kill themselves rather than become bank robbers because it was better for society.

lol my mom found neked pics of my ex and flipped out she also searches all my shit when i come home it gets really fing annoying

well you know what i mean though. if your life is so bad that you are actually thinking of killing yourself...i'd try to change it first. take some risks to improve your life, then if those risks don't work out...well then you still have the option to kill yourself right?

I think the reason teen suicide is as common as it is is due to the fact that most teens are stuck in their situation. It's either that or run away/call social services and get placed in a foster home, which from media exposure, we've all seen horror stories of how that turns out. At least with suicide, you feel like you're in control of your fate.

Sorry Lira, that sucks she's bitching about it now, 5 years later, after invading your privacy. I completely understand writing stuff out as a therapeautic exercise.

luckily my mom doesnt do this. Although I dont have any suicide notes or nekked pics
