Prog Breaks... We Pwned it didn't we...
Was just thinking about this before, and seriously Australia had it covered when it came to Prog breaks a few years ago.
Other than BT & Hybrid, the genre was pretty much covered by...
Hi-Fi Bugs
Lo Step
Chable
Vance Musgrove
Mortar & Pestle
Nubreed
Andy Page
Halogen & Nash-T
Scrambler
Respect!
Ok, back to work for me now
Don't forget Jono, and Infusion have released some breaksy stuff as well. It's a shame I never really liked prog-breaks, cos I think we were definitely in the right city for it...
Wasn't sure whether to include Infusion but yeah forgot about Jono
I was just thinking back to Sideways at Tilt which we ran throughout 2004 and all the massive PB tunes that were around at the time before. Definately a great time to be in Melburn
i got a Jono set that was broadcasted on JJJ all with aussie prog breaks tunes, fucking nice!
Chable....nuff said...i didnt think prog-breaks exsists anywhere apart from Aus?? chable & bonnici - ride (have a break mix) is teh best...ever
Too bad breaks are SHIT, eh ?
Breakbeat / fractured / broken / random beats are NOT progressive. Thank
god all this shit is pretty much over now. Even Quinny has seen the light and gone back to playing the great 4/4 progressive, that he's known for.
Chable, Phil K, NuBredd, etc .......... meh.

ok so i can only think of ozgur can and charlie may who else produce non aus prog breaks ?
Nah, there are nots more...
Shiloh is the obvious one that comes to mind atm
yeah but chable is like the 3rd wheel of shiloh
No he's not.
He's part of 'Tracker' (which is a collaboration with Shiloh), but when Shiloh were producing prog breaks Luke had not even met them.
his new works with them like "Oz" are awesome. speaking of which, does page still produce?
Andy is still producing yes
He's currently working in the UK as a sound engineer/programmer (or something like that). He recently did a track with Sean Quinn called SQAP (which is out on Audio Therapy, and also has a few new things coming out very soon i believe.
Check out www.myspace.com/farmatronic for some samples of his new stuff
cheers mang
ive seen his myspace before lol, i love that pic of him
Dean, we need to get you a both with "Prog Breaks Information" on it

Well i did used to moderate the old prog breaks forum before it turned into www.idmforums.com
I thought that was chloe? Have you had a sex change? again?
Chloe and i are actually the same person. Have you ever seen us in the same room together? I actually just got back from supporting Digweed across America for his Transitions tour you see
(there were actually a few of us, and yes Chloe was another)
I'm sorry guys, but breakbeat of any kind is just WRONG !
Dunno about Quinny playing electro......... last couple of times
I've seen him out recently, he's played like his old self .... great banging 4/4 progressive.
Don't get me started on this "electro" crap. This shit is the latest blight on the progressive sound.
breakbeat is almost as shit as genre bashing
but seriously if you think Electro is a blight on the progressive sound you should hear some of the stuff Seb Fontaine is championing now, wow!

your loss dude, limit yourself to only one or two genres and you're just going to miss out on some incredible music
dean can you list some recent tunes? i like what i've heard from shiloh in the past, the two tribes 2004 cd by sean quinn is really good, but other than chable and some stuff on vapour i don't really know many of these kind of tunes. check out the one i posted, 'fiord - hybrid', tell me what you think
