im wondering what kind of class balance that you guys had.

we tried with our guild with 26 members but failed at phase 2. it was hard to dot her when she was deep breath killing all the casters. we also only had 1mage for AoE the whelps

nope. My guild only ever made it to chromaggus 3 times, killed him once. We were in BWL for 5 weeks, MC for 5 months or so, so most people were alot of tier 1, like 6-8 pieces. Now my guild broke up so I solo everything.

the lowest ive ever seen was I think a 7 man (horde) onyxia. I know for sure it was less than 10. and it took a really long time, but you can take as long as you want for stages 1 and 3.

if I was to do a small onyxia group I would have the following.

Warrior
Druid
Priest
Magex2
Pally
Hunter(cuz thats me)

Instead of waiting by the caves for whelp time, group up in the middle, and both packs will come to you. Hunter is best DPS cuz you can do whatever and never be out of mana. Plus agro wipe from FD

druid can DPS when heals not needed in feral form and help tank whelps in bear form.
you would make so much money. The blues alone + gold would be worth it. (200g 3 boe blues, 2-5 epics,some onyxia scales)

yeha, the lowest is a 7man raid... haven't seen that thou, but have seen the 8man raid taking her down.. pretty amazing

as a hunter, I would wear my FR gear for this fight. But only because of her fireballs in stage 2, not from lava spalsh in 3. I would often drink one of the small fire pots as well. They are cheap to make, and easy as shit.

for stage 3, I would stand on "the tits" as I call em. Two little humps near where you run in. When she screams, the fear doesnt send you into the lava. So I dont get hit. :d

wow very nice guys, anything lower than 20 is kik ass. The main thing with Ony is to avoid getting any breaths in phase 2. Our guild strat for P2 is to get everyone spread out as far as possible and the dps to stand in your position and only dps her when in range. Don't chase her around, she will come to you. Also the rogues can do reg dps when she is over your head, which helps alot...better than just shooting arrows/guns. We have her on farm status now, and we are not getting breaths with this strat of being as far away from each other as possible. Also have a tank on each side of the whelp caves to grab aggro and everyone take them out quickly with aoe/ranged if your not close enough to do normal attacks.

As for needing FR pots, u don't need them, just get your tanks equipped with tons of FR and rogues should have at least 150+ to survive any breaths u may get.

Thats a pretty basic strat, yeah. But FR isn't needed for anyone but the MT. DB is avoidable even if she does cast it, just run to the sides of where she is facing. IE she is facing north east, run to southeast or north west sides and you won't get hit. Rogues can follow her around, its no problem, just make sure people move out of their way.

Yea theres not really much of a strat needed, just get her outta P2 as quickly as possible w/o getting breaths. We have found things to be really smooth by not chasing her around, as myself being a rogue. We survive the fight w/o getting agro and taking alot of damage.
