Sander van Doorn on Spundae LA

From his newsletter:

"I went to LA where I played to an amazing crowd for Spundaes night at the Circus, thanks to all the people for the reactions to my set, it was definately one of the best nights in my career!" -- Sander van Doorn

Looks like SvD loves Spundae LA!

Yello - Oh Yeah (Sander van Doorn remix)

First time hearing this, and from the man. This tune is a classic and SvD did some serious justice to it, great remix work! He's super cool, laid-back, and overall has great energy. His stage presence is one of the best I've seen of a DJ, and he doesn't think much of himself. From what I took from the night, he was very humbled and modest. Takes the time to answer all your questions, very respectful, and he's pretty much your average guy who loves what he does. I definitley vote for SvD in LA round 2!

Hehe...of course this is true when it is the first outing of a so called "up-and-comer" who visits a new market. Of course as the crowds increase and numbers and the Djs popularity soars humbleness gives way to arrogance.

Hope he comes back soon..

Sigh

Not true at all. I became good freinds with CL and hes never ever shown any side of arrogance to anyone even when he was in the top 10. Even Darude is a nice person and will chat with people. There's always a small handful who are humble and Sander Van Doorn doesnt seem like the type to ever get arrogant either.

that's more like the exception rather than the rule... of all the top touring trance djs i've ran into, the humble ones severely outnumber the arrogant ones. i'd like to hear what your view is based upon...

J00F is a great person and will talk to you like a friend.

Lex, I think he is speaking of "Oakenfold, Tiesto, and Pvd" since they are the ones that kind of have that reputation for being divas. OH YEAH, SANDRA COLLINS TOO

Thumbs up We want Sander!!

He was in SF a few months back & he was great! He is hot right now. I love just about anything he releases under his name & his alias. He is also very humble & nice, & young but that's a trend we're seeing now w/ almost all the new djs & producers. I hope to see him do very well!

yeah but seriously i think you just about covered all the abrasive trance djs out there... what about ferry, markus, armin, j00f, c law, svd, halliwell, darude, b&j, rank 1, dekay, koglin, menno, darey, a&b, atb, 4strings, etc... these guys are not arrogant divas at all. having chatted with svd in person, he's just another down-to-earth guy happy to be where he is... much like j00f and c law...

Of course everyone who ran into Tiesto when he was out here working on his album talked about how friendly he was. (Just don't take his picture.)

JOOF spent about 20-30 minutes in SD talking with us LATA's last time he was here.

CL spent about 20 min. talking and signing stuff last time he did spundae.

Rank1 & signum seemed very cool.

According to Austin Scott, when he closed tiesto in SD he said he was quite an asshole.

rank 1 (only piet tours, benno is always back home in the studio) is really cool. last time he was at spundae with pascal from signum, him and pascal were just hanging out with us TAs and we were all having a blast. piet and pascal are very nice. they smoke a ton though haha. after every couple of tracks when they were tag teaming they would take turns smoking. they were fun though.
