I'll take it when I get back home from work

Ok, finished listening. Spot on mixing, there was only one time where I could kind of tell a transition, other than that it flowed perfectly. All the tracks were bangin' and crazy, and it was straight full-on psy which is what I like.

Faaaantastic mix, 9.5/10.

yeah, I'm a psy-head
But i can't stand pop-fullon, don't get me wrong.. the tracklisting looks good and it'll probably burn the dancefloor but it's just that I'm very tired of this type of psy
I prefer the more original side of new psy, like Artifakt or Slum. Be sure to check those out

Lotta psy goin around now. You satisfied a need for dark and dirty full on psytrance. Thank you very much. 15:00 and I am just gone, you had me earlier, but I'm really gone now. I might be late for work because of this thing you have compiled....

Thumbs up

This was pretty decent, I didn't quite like some of the tracks that you played out in this one.

I did enjoy a couple of tracks though, some really good ones aswell.

I'll give an opinion in a few days. I've just started d/l'ing and will need some time to listen and gather impressions.

Cheers,

I have listened to this twice, but I haven't really had time to write down my thoughts.

I had a hardware failure a couple weeks ago, and have just about got my system back.

Since you are requesting some comments, I'll see what I can do after my day job (no work tonight ), once I get the other pc running (which that set is on).

Cheers

J,

I still think 1. Talamasca - A Frenchman in Cape Town (Chill Cliff Remix) would be better served up in the middle or near the end of a set. I really like this track, it has a nice tribal/jungle sound. Mixing into Creepy Cheeky was very good.

I'm not a big fan of 3. Mekkanikka - Popsick (Original Mix), but your transition into it was great!

4. MFG - Shma Israel (Original Mix) is a really nice track, at least the beginning of it. The second half, after the 10 second gap with no drums really disappoints. A little too odd, with the ambient sounds I was almost ready to fall asleep, and had wondered if I actually did and woke up listening to another set. It finishes off nice though.

The ride into 5. Olli Wisdom - A Pinch of Psychedelic (Space Tribe Remix) was really nice. Very good transition, and a pretty good track.

6. Mekkanikka - Chill dat beach out (Original Mix) is a track that has a chance to grow on me. IMO, it's an okay track, with some really great sounds, but the producer(s) could have put a bit more polish on it. It almost sounds like an unfinished track. I still like it.

I think your short transition into 7. Electric Universe - Gaijinrocker (Original Mix) worked pretty well. I like the guitar, and the energy behind the guitar (what is that sampled from?).

Mixing into 8. Qeens Park Derangers - Create A Hippy (Original Mix) was okay.

9. Eskimo - Party Pooper (Original Mix) is a very cool track. It seems like the duration of it was kind of short, or maybe it's just the fact I'm used to listening to prog sets where there's *usually* more of each song .

10. Xerox ft. Psycraft - Adrenalin Rush (Original Mix). I'm a big fan of Xerox, and this is far from their best work. With that said, it's still a pretty decent track.

And this is the second set I've grabbed from here in the past month where my favourite track of the set is the finisher. 11. 1200 Micrograms - Mescaline (Original Mix) is a really cool track. 10 minutes of it is a bit too much of it though IMO. I think this might work a little better on either side of Gaijinrocker or a pitched-up A Frenchman in Cape Town (Chill Cliff Remix) (which I'd like to hear in the heart of a set).

Overall a pretty nice set. It's nice to see there are other people in Calgary who don't all listen to/spin the same crap. I'd say it's a bit of a 'breath of fresh air' set, and thanks for it J!

Cheers,

THC

Cheers man... You feel the same way about it as I do, to be honest.. I enjoy it, but I was never fully happy with my track choices (I like all of them, but some don't go together at all).. Thanks for the thorough review yet again.. Keep an eye out for my August Promo (late as usual )
