mp3 support
SD card duplication
70% +/- pitch
Metallic Non-Slip finish on jog
Silver pitch nob (meh)
Adjustable resistance on jog wheel
100dot display as opposed to 50dot
SD card not limited to 16mb
backlit reloop button (:P)
I still have my original CDJ-1000's and i still find no reason to upgrade...i really really hate the sound of the jog on the mk3 and 2...sounds like when you spin a skateboard wheel....
However if i had 2 grand...i'd definately pick up the mk3s no freakin doubht...those things are way damn seksi

Yeah but I still don't think those things are that significant for an upgrade. I don't plan to do anything with my CDJ 1000 MK2s. And the noisey jog wheel, I can relate but I don't hear it when i'm mixing because i'm concentrating on the music, and I usually play it quite loud so I don't hear the jog wheel. It's only when your just messing around with it without music blasting that it's noticeable. I had no clue last summer when I bought my CDJ 1000 MK2s that they were even going to make an MK3, but frankly it doesn't matter to me really. How many clubs are going to have the MK3? not many, they probably will still have the MK1 or MK2s...like most clubs still have the MK2 model of the Technics 1200s, not the M3Ds or MK5s.

The only reason i got the mk3 instead of the mk2 are that the mk2 are not made any longer. the only way to get one is to find a store that still has them in stock or used. but i really dont care if its a mk2 or 3. it is a hell of a lot better than my american audio cd playes that i had. oh yea they are for sale if any one wants them.

still. mastering the MK2 will have you perfectly comfortable on an MK3. the only thing that functions differently, for all purposes, is the jogwheel, and since it is adjustable, you can make it feel like an MK2.
not the case with the original 1000s, the MK1's wheel is much heavier, and it's a bitch to get used to whilst spinning for people, IMO, just as much as it would be a bitch going from that to an MK2-3, i'd guess.
i guess now since the MK3s are out, most clubs should upgrade to at least MK2.
and all you shabby fucking clubs with Denon DN-S1000s in your booth, have some deceny and at least get some damn CDJ-200s!!!

I dunno, I haven't seen MK2s in a club since the M3Ds came out.

erm, read the orignal post. in any case, for clarification:
a) i have seen 200s in clubs. and they are great units. you get the pitch from a 1000, and can mix quite beautifully with it. mp3 support. the only feature missing would be vinyl emulation.
b) i was referring to the crap Denon cd decks, the low end ones, similar in price to CDJ-200s, but move around at +/-0.1% increments, and tend to skip/not read CDs after a while for no reason. pitch bending with the jogwheel is useless, as it doesn't spin in a fluid motion (it kind of has present positions, you can kinda feel it 'click' to them, ie. it will always stop at one of them if you spin it freely), and i personally hate pitch bend buttons as an only means. i've seen these on a couple of club booths, and its no fun. hence, i was only suggesting that it is stupid, if you are paying the same money, to get a crap deck, as opposed to quality equipment.
Pioneer CDJ-200, advertised for $399 @ djmart.com

Denon DN-S1000, advertised for $399 @ djmart.com

give me bare bones quality and functionality over gimicky bells and whistles any day.
