I'd kinda feel a tool if I showed up to an event and I find 10-20 other people wearing the same shirt as myself.

Posted by phoenixBEBE on Jul-07-2006 17:59:

yeah this has been discussed in the past...

i think most ppl just buy the official TA shirt...or they make their own (which is cool also). I still think its a good idea.

LOL. Like every PVD event with ppl wearing Vandit shirts.

I'd probably buy it and wear it every now and then --- but I generally don't wear t-shirts to clubs, so idk if it's the right idea for me. But keep up the good work --- I recall how someone posted a while back (during the mod vs. no mod argument) how we need more 'NYTA Unity', more things to bring ppl from the forum together in real life, and this seems like just the thing. At the very least, I'll be able to find whoever's wearing one of these more easily at a crowded club.

NYTA uniforms FTL. Like we're some little elite clique or something. Then all the Lee Hottis can complain about those crackie TAs just like we complain about how they're all dressed the same and look alike.

If it were a cool shirt, I might get one, but I'd never wear it to events where I thought other TAs would be.

sometimes i'll wear my Vandit, LEF or Fuck Me I'm Famous tshirt if i'm out doing other stuff - particularly if i'm travelling. Sometimes it's an easy way to meet people and start conversations. I really don't have an opinion on wearing it to particular events. Sometimes I do it and like it, sometimes I don't and think it's stupid.

Sometimes it's easier to stand out. Like your "Got a light?" tshirt which I think is great.

I'd get a NYTA one only to wear it to events outside NY..

Unless it had a date, then I'd wear it here 3+ years after the fact!

That's exactly what I'm talking about. At work, i look pretty much the same as everyone else, except I wear more "night-like" button ups than traditional blue and white button ups, so for going out, I try to find random things I don't think everyone has.

BTW, i need to buy some new T-shirts. I have such a hard time finding things i like. Any suggestions for good T-shirt stores. I usually check out YRB, Express, other stores in the village. One of the only new ones I've bought this year was torn in the Hawtin incident, so it went in the trash.

I actually picked up a couple of summer causals and t-shirts from Macy's (herald square) a month ago.

Individualism is part of who you are not who you belong to

If you feel like you want to represent TA, then by all means go ahead. If someone wants to coordinate a mass TA shirt, then that's their opinion.

Personally, I wouldn't wear one.

dunno really, for one thing i dont wear t-shirts to the club usually

this is an example of a website that has t-shirts - http://www.deviantart.com/deviantwear/

on the right hand side you can see 4 limited edition designs (they make maybe 100 of each? i'm not sure) - after a while new designs are made and the old ones are gone, i think forever

maybe if it was done like that there would be less chance of everyone wearing the same t
