best music theory book.....

i havent got a chance to post anything up here yet ....well to be honest dont know how...lol.. mainly into soundtrack/trance anything with emotion really... all my questions that i do post here are theory based and i feel from the answers/replys i get back that i need to get a book on theory and study it because althou i know you can write music with out knowing much theory if any......to be honest my best work has come from not knowing but feeling....but i would love to ulitimatly write tunes like unfinished smphony by hyrid... and i think a good start is a theory book

as i have noted there is alot of books out there any recommendation???

the best book on theory, that will give you an all around understanding of how it all comes together is The idiots guide to music theory. Very easy to read and understand.

I concur! I just got this book and it is phenomenal for someone that has no music theory training at all. It's working wonders for me!!
