The Trance in 2010

So do you guys think the trance music will stay at the same quality til 2010? or do you think it will decline in quality.

I know it will be increasing in quantity but not to sure about quality. I hope it grows...

any thoughts?

Posted by RapidFire on Jul-13-2006 01:44:

well its been on a downward slope so logic dictates it will be considerably worse.

the quality better not decline, it's bad enough as it is

i'm curious what kind of new production toys we'll have by then though

I can see progressive trance sticking around, as well as tech trance, but I can't see epic. The quality of epic trance has decreased in the last few years, but with progressive and tech trance, it's been increasing and people are starting to catch on to it more, whether it's DJs or listeners. Psy trance will be around as well, but I can definitely see Prog-Psy really being big, bigger than the full on stuff. Seems to be really good i'de say....

By 2010 trance will be nothing but reverb. A classic trance record will be a monstrous echo with a beat set to it.

it really depends on the technology. the irony is that as our electronic tools become more complex, the sound loses that electronic tone.

In 2010 trance will be house and house will be minimal. And minimal will become the noise for alarm clocks.

You heard it here first.

that was funny

Trance in 2010 will be something like this:

Cafe Del Mar 2010
Greece 2010
Airwave 2010
Strange World 2010
Cloudwalking 2010

...and so on.

Surely the epic trance formula cannot last for another 4 years without people getting bored shitless. Can it?

Posted by noikeee on Jul-13-2006 13:12:

I guess I still won't care much about trance in 2010.

Altho there might be a chance of a nice revival of the old stuff. The really old stuff.

We'll always have newbies.

In 2010, people will be complaining on the internet that trance has gone downhill and it wasn't like it was back in the glory years of 2005-2006.

Posted by KilldaDJ on Jul-13-2006 14:49:

it'll be noise by then i reckon, loses that musical quality, none of it will be original, well some might but then some might not.

Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar (Even Tiesto Gave It a Remix) etc

Posted by Omega_M on Jul-13-2006 15:42:

it could always happen that a trance mozart or Bach comes along and takes the genre to even higher levels!! That should be pretty cool!

Posted by Push2005 on Jul-13-2006 15:51:

The BPM of Trance will increase to 180; the supersaw-breakdowns will last over 15 minutes, and the vocals will be done by killer robots

and then it will die...!

2010?

I'm stuck in 1999, now excuse me while I masturbate to an oakenfold set.

Posted by Omega_M on Jul-13-2006 16:03:

But on a more serious note, I think as trance music spreads to countries other than *in* Europe, it will be experimented upon and people will blend it with local instrument music to come up with new sounds and the genre will diversify.

Posted by menid on Jul-13-2006 16:06:

Europe isn't a country.
