What is quality trance?

After reading the various "trance are dead" threads, and seeing that there still is a track or two that the bashers still seem to like.. Why don't we make a list so that everyone doesn't have to go through endless piles of tracks to find one gem.. So, wich new tracks is carrying the trance spirit? Wich tracks stands out from the masses?

Two tracks that have stood out for me is Cape Town - Proglifter (IMO this is by far the best track released this year, and that's not because of the hype I'm thinking that), and Nautical Imagery - Distant Dreams(Alex Morph remix).

The "Trance is dead" subject is just as raped as the "Recommend me some of this and that" and the "What IS trance anyway" threads, and I've only been here for a year or something like that.

Yes, but this is more to see what tracks are the last hopes of trance for those who means it's dying..

Why don't you just LET them believe it's dying. All that matters is what you like anyway, don't you know that?

I agree with Rainborn. This topic is totally meaningless since there is various topics which asks exactly this "What good trance are there?" etc

Yes, I do let them believe, but it's still interesting to see where trance failed for so many people..

I actually do like this track in all its epic trance clichness. At least it's impeccably produced and crisp sounding than much of the epic trance clichs being pumped out of the factory these days. Out of the first have tunes in the TOTY 2006 that we have the option of voting for I just could see myself voting for this one.

Oh, I actually like it too. For some reason, that track's kind of stuck out for me. Probably because, as I jokingly often say, the supersaws in there have been taken to the next level. It sounds... dare I say it... fresh.

The Thrillseekers - By Your Side (Martin Roth remix)
Haris C - On the Other Side
Haris C - Momente
Giuseppe Ottaviani & Marc Van Linden - Until Monday
Diaphane feat. Kim Jay - Ode (Samuelzone remix)
Carl B. - Explorations
Digitalis - Clarity

all can be listened to on audiojelly.com except for Until Monday which can be listened to on the vonyc website I believe.

Excuse me, but this threads name is nowhere near "trance is dead". Furthermore, what other place is better to ask that question, or test such a statement, than here? Just because we're registered here doesn't mean all of us are sheep that blindly love all trance.

This is in no way meant as a justification for the "trance is dead"-threads that pops up all the time. For people who have been here for more than 5 months those kind of threads are worthless, it's all been discussed before. They only work as an explaination to all the newbies why so many dislikes what trance has become. I think I've read the same kind of arguments about 20 times. Make sticky imo

you see, quality trance is whatever you think it is. if its fuckin cheese to someone else and its quality to you, then its quality,so who cares what someone else thinks about it. i listened to it quite a few times, but i think it isnt anything special. my reason, becuaes i dont like the way airwave produces anymore, and i dont like the direction he took capetown in after frederico santini left, with the exception of the pitstop release, both songs on that were good.

Ok, I've been asking myself this for a long time. How come that ALL the people that have registered after 2003 think that the new Trance tunes are so damn hot and all that? Have any of you guys EVER listened to tracks like Solid Sleep - Club Attack, Humate - Love Stimulation, Rapid Eye - Circa Forever, AvB - Sunburn, Solar Stone - Solar Coaster, Faith - Stare Case, and so on and so on??? Damn. There are only a few good tunes out there nowadays, but all you 'post 2003-people' seem to be content very quick....

*raises hand* I actually dig Iberia Mainroom Mix more than the other ones though.
