Broken Needle

I broke my needle on my turntable last night. We had a long relationship together, about 6 years now. It makes me upset to know that i can't mix my beats tonight...

Does anyone know where I can get this part?

I was thinking Play Da Record, but i have never noticed that they have the techy stuff there> any who- just thought I would share this tragic news.

ciao 4 now

Almost any higher quality music shop should have them I would think. Yes PdR does have some, but I'm not too sure how great their prices are.

long story short - I don't haVE ANy way to record!, but yeah I spin spin spin - sop much that it broke my needle

Your computer sound card should have a mic input which you can use to record. Then all you need is an RCA -> 1/8" cord converter, which are probably dirt cheap, and you're set.

Play de record has pretty good prices, I know that. But I do not know if they are the best in Toronto and area. Right now I have a set of Sure Whitelabels. They do the job, but considering they're the only needles I've had, I can't say much. From what I have heard the Ortofon's are the best, like chinamon said.

PS. If you find a place with even better prices, please let me know! I'm shopping for CD players

No problem!

I did a search, and came up with this. Download.com has a slew of them if you don't like that.

To get the mix out on the internet, all you need to do is save the file in MP3 format. Then you can send it out to whoever you want over MSN, or whatever. If you want to put it up on a website, it's a bit harder. But if you are interested, I can help you out.

(I don't know what the warranty implications are if you buy from a U.S. retailer though...)
