hmmm 2 words dont fit in the same sentence here... ASOT & classics

Posted by Push2005 on Jul-15-2006 14:49:

Asot Classics ?

I wouldn't be surprised if 70% of the tracks on those CD's will be Armada releases; and they certainly dont hold (m)any classics

Let's at least see the tracklist first.

20 says ATRC (Armin Mix) will be on it.

Posted by RickyM on Jul-15-2006 18:26:

Pretty cool that they are all full versions though...

Oh god, vomit in a box.

Four discs and if it's anywhere near comprehensive I'll eat my hands.

keep in mind that it will be a dj tool more than something to listen too like a set

yeah, it's too bad that anything asot tends to get these elitist's panties all mangled up and stuff.

these fools cannot go a minute without chiming in on the latest asot topic with a hearty quip testifying to their wit.

honestly i'm sick of it.

This is a real reason to sh*t up and buy the cd's. A lot of those tunes were never released on the CD format and here is a chance. Yeah maybe the tracklist will suck but i don't care TBH as this isn't one of these trance mixes,it's unmixed with THE FULL VERSIONS. For crying out loud stop bashing

Okay then, let's see. If the tracklist does turn out to be a good, comprehensive list of real trance classics then we'll all shut the fuck up. However, if it turns out to be shallow, label-whoring and totally unrepresentative, you lot can eat your words.

as its considerably cheaper to release the tune from ASOT labels, i dont think they will licence alot of older tracks from other company's ..

who knows. its always cool to have alot of full tracks for some people. I prefer to have the real vinyls, just because it feels more real.. i'm a bit nogalstic I think.

not really mate, vinyl has a special aura about it, the crackling at the start of a tune, the needle skips, all the things that make it sound 'real' whereas a cd is too precise.

Its like having a Trancemaster compilation with most of the popular songs from the past few years. I don't see why you people don't bash Trancemaster releases, they're basically newer ASOT tunes.

I'm sure it'll be a fair representation of popular ASOT airplay tunes, maybe it wont fit the definition of 'classic' for most people, but you'll be hard pressed to not find a few songs you enjoy on this compilation IMO.

+1

If this has a pile of rare classics on it, then I'll be buying it. If a compilation is good, I dont care who made it.

But something tells me this will be shit. A couple of well known classics chucked in with ATRC and other general cheesiness that the record labels call 'classic' but the public call 'rubbish'.
