King Pirates of the Caribbean - spoils inside, don't open if you haven't seen it!

Finally saw it last night, SOOOO GOOD!!!! But damn I was so mad at how it ended, total cliffhanger...now have to wait another year to see what happens.

What did you think?

Posted by Cosmic Fur on Jul-17-2006 15:43:

I thought it was good. Funny, and it didn't take itself seriously, which is a good thing. Yeah, the ending opened the gates for the 3rd a little tooo wide. They might as well just ended it in mid-scene, that's how much of a "non-ending" that ending was. Anyway, i liked it more than the first.

I love Johny Depp's character and the job he does with it.

I dun really remember much from POC 1 so I din really care much about the ending. Though, I'm looking forward to see how they save Johny Depp.

POC 1 is like Harry Potter for adults....

way too much magic n stuff in it...

They have shot the thrid one already. They did them both at the same time a la the matrix sequels.

This second installment lacked much of the charm of the first. I think this is because it was a little too long on action at the expense of dialogue. That said, I was entertained and will likely see the next.

No they have not. They shot a couple of scenes for the third during the filming of the second but production for the third is scheduled to begin during late summer.

i thought it was good...loved the little references to part one (like the help of sea turtles to reach land..lol)

i dont like how characters that were supposedly killed off in the first part came back tho...

i was bored to death, i just wanted it to end.

i don't know if i'm going deaf, but i had some hard time understanding depp's mumbling.

I stand corrected. I just double checked my source and you are right.

I really enjoyed it!

I love Keira Knightley, and Johnny Depp's character just blows me away!

Her old husband that became a bum, Jack Davenport, he's a phenomenal actor, watched him for 4 season on the British comedy "Coupling". He's fantastic. Glad he made a reprisal of his role! I'd love to see him in more flicks.

The actor who played Davy Jones, Bill Nighy, I'm also a huge fan of, ever since his role in Underworld as Viktor! Thought he was GREAT! He's plays such a fucking fantastic villain! He has a great on screen presence and command about himself.

And yeah, it was cool seeing Orlando Bloom in another movie too I guess. I liked how they had the other 'dead' characters from the last movie reappear! Made the whole movie seem more familiar to me, which I appreciated. Brought me more into this film!

Cant wait for the 3rd. I loved the ending, I was like "WTF" and was pumped up when I saw the old captain!

I heard they filmed MOST of the 3rd movie when they did this one, but its still being shot and is still under production in that sense.

I saw this last night and I agree the ending kinda 50% got me all
pumped, and 50% got me pissy because it was like "I WANNA SEE MORE NOW!"
LOL...I know that's what they wanted everyone to feel though right?

Yes, I very much imagine so!! Great!

Posted by Cosmic Fur on Jul-17-2006 18:29:

BTW, that Amazon woman > Kiera Knightley.

Kiera's character annoyed me the whole movie, while the Amazon turned me on (as long as you didn't look at her mouth and rather someplace else).

Posted by starsearcher on Jul-17-2006 18:34:

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm Keira

I know that ending got me really annoyed. The moment, I saw the old captain emerge asking about his ship , I was like killer this is going to be good but the movie ended right there. Its like lord of the rings all over again

I read that Chow Yun Fat is going to be playing the pirate Feng Shao in the third and Keith Richards is going to take the role of Sparrows dad.

Keira was looking really nice and I agree about the amazon chick. She was sensual in a weird sorta way (maybe it was her accent, i dunno) but I hate Orlando Blooms character. Hes to plain and adds nothing to the movie but a sappy romantic doing everything in the name of love and I hope he walks the plank in the third. Sparrow should get Elizabeth.

What dead characters are you talking about (apart from Barbossa)? The two pirates who were in the crew from the Pearl didn't die in the first one. A bunch of them are taken alive by the british at the end.

I stand corrected then.

I submit. Savvy?! Parley! PARLEY!

Apparently there is a version of the first movie that has an extra scene near the end which hints the dude may still be alive.

Posted by King Luis on Jul-18-2006 12:45:

i thought it was an awesome movie. but at the end when carbosa (what ever his name it) came out, i thought he died in part one?
remember the fight scene when he gets shot?

Posted by matty on Jul-18-2006 14:23:

was ok but nothing close to the first one. Kiera is smoking hot but her face expressions drive me nuts. Not a great performance by her at all.

I'll see the third one just cause i'm 2/3s into it,
