Michael Mayer - Neue Luthersche Fraktur

Holy crap. This track rocks. How embarrassing that no one got it in ID31!

How much other insane stuff has techno been hiding over the past two years? Kompakt and its friends have very rapidly gained my attention.

Are you a tranceaddict? Disillusioned? Often suffer from feelings of hopelessness? Go listen to what techno has been up to lately.

That sounds interesting. Michael Mayer sounded familiar, but I just realized from looking at discogs that the first track on Nyana I always thought was Mayer actually is Reinhard Voigt. Mislabeled on the CD

I agree, Kompakt's bringing out amazing stuff lately, check out stuff like:
The Field - Over The Ice
Oxia - Domino
Superpitcher - Tonite

it means something like New Lutherian Pennsylvania German folk art?

Fraktur may refer to:

a specific kind of blackletter typefaces; see fraktur (typeface);
a kind of Pennsylvania German folk art; see fraktur (Pennsylvania German folk art)

I wish Mayer did more stuff like this, but he seems to be more intent on experimenting with pop in his usual minimal/tech house leanings. It nevertheless shows yet again how versatile he can be as a producer. Superb track.

Indeed a great track. In fact, the whole Thouch album is pretty ace.
