What do you think about IDJ2

Can this be really be helping us to be a real portable DJ?

It is nothing but an expensive toy. I don't think much people will take it seriously.

i'd use it for house parties, being portable and all... especially if it works

maybe i'll try it out, if it works i'd consider getting one and an ipod

but i'd actually have use for it

numark has been producing a lot of neat stuff lately that look really pretty however i would be weary of the long-term functionality. but to answer the question...i think its an awesome idea especially since it even has a waveform display, pitch control and other goodies...

Seems like nothing is really taken seriously unless it is sold by a big name like Pioneer.

Think it might be cool for use at house parties or small bars, I agree. If someone has an Ipod, a good collection of tunes and just a love for music, then it would be great. Why do you have to haul around two big TTs or expensive CDJs and mixers, when you can get it all for use with your Ipod. They already have bars and clubs where they allow people to bring in their Ipods and hook them up and play some of their own tunes. This just adds some mixing elements to it. A few months ago I would have said it was crap, but now that I am hearing more places doing this, seems like a good idea. This isn't for serious DJs...

i just realized that a problem with this unit may be switchin ipods during midmix...is it possible to switch the ipod out when you want to grab a song from another ipod and not cut the song thats playing...now that i see that you can scratch realtime with this unit i think i may buy it as i always get asked if people could play music from their ipods...

At least you only need one IPod now. And hooray for pitch controls.

Yup, one of the major flaws in this (well was). Who the fuck is gonna buy another iPod to use it? For the money you already spent probabaly off getting some cheap cdjs. I like the improvements a lot thou

Hmmm... Given the size of storage space on iPods these days, how much freaking music do you need with you? :P

Cheers
Nem

Nem does not own an iPod, I hate them so bad...
