I think some of you know Karim...This is his blog from Lebanon.

Pretty intense stuff.

Stay safe Karim.

I was wondering when this thread was going to be started on TA.

Posted by MKpacha on Jul-19-2006 14:52:

I have been reading his blogs from the day he started, it seems his father and he have reached safe ground and should be home by friday or earlier, thank god.

Posted by Cosmic Fur on Jul-19-2006 14:54:

Why do people do this to themselves? Lebanon would be about the last palce I'd want to be in right now. I seriously do not want to see Karim's death be reported on the news (even though I didn't know the dude), when he could have so easily prevented it.

Posted by Goashem on Jul-19-2006 14:55:

and the international community response:"if we step in now we wont achieve anything so we're just going to let the sort it out themselves for now:

Maybe he went to visit his homeland?

I'd love to visit my homeland too, just not when it's getting the shit bombed out of it.

Posted by zokissima on Jul-19-2006 14:58:

I think most westerners are very unfamiliar with what war really is...

why don't you stop to think before your eagerness to reply in every thread overcomes you. lebanon is where his family is from he went to stay for the summer. do you really think he'd go if there was a war on the horizon? it was peaceful at the time, and has had been for a while. you wouldn't expect things like this to transpire overnight but they did.

Karim was on holiday with his father visiting family....

Dima... im honestly not trying to pick a fight, but sometimes your comments are so uncalled for under certain subjects such as this one.

like you said, you don't even know the dude, so don't pass a comment such as that.

Posted by Misanthrope on Jul-19-2006 15:05:

ok - sorry guys

but he just asked a question, which probably most people were thinking to themselves anyway.

I don't see anything offensive about it.

Posted by Cosmic Fur on Jul-19-2006 15:08:

I love how I was concerned for the safety of the guy, and you all jump at me like I was dissing his mother.

anyway, Tordan answered what I wanted to know.

Karim hadn't been back in years.. and when they left nothing like this was remotely on the horizon. I think the important thing to focus on here is him making it back to Canadian soil safe. Not to mention his mom and brother and countless friends he has back here that are all worried sick about him. Honestly I could care less about the majority of your comments on here.. but making light of someone's else's life being in danger is just crossing the line. Come on.

Posted by Misanthrope on Jul-19-2006 15:13:

Unbelievable.

You know you can't be this overly sensitive.

anyway, as far I know - Karim doesn't even read this board cause of some certain drama. Plus, if someone on Tota really cared that much for him - this thread would have been posted a very long time ago. I in fact read this thread first on tribe.

anyway, that's my last comment.

Karim - hope to see you reply to this thread soon. Although, I am not as worried cause Sasha spoke to you already.

Posted by Orko on Jul-19-2006 15:13:

I had no idea he was there, and I was wondering why I didnt see him out anymore.

I hope he can stay safe over there, and come back.

With an estimated 50,000 Canadians in the area, I wonder how many people we may know are in trouble?

I just cannot even imagine what they are going through.

its hard when someones life is in danger and you feel completely helpless to their cause...

i don't know what to say to that...

you baffle me.

Call it whatever you want. I don't care.. and yes for your information Karim DOES read this board.. he just doesn't post. If not agreeing with someone posting bullshit about "Why people would go to a country if it was getting the shit bombed out of it" (how eloquent) and how he could have "easily prevented" something happening to him by not going (because I'm sure he's on the list of informants for when other countries plan on bombing his home) then I guess I'm overly sensitive.

Honestly so fucking typical.

If you already read this thread on Tribe then you should understand why people are jumping all over Dima for his comments. The same thing was done there when some made the same sort of comment.

I think the main reason why this thread had not been started here was because Karim made it quite clear that he wanted nothing to do with this forum anymore. As well the people that do care for Karim are (I am sure) in contact with him another, more formal, way then over TA.

With that being said,

Karim, I hope you and family get home safe.

Posted by The Highroller on Jul-19-2006 15:22:

I read his blog every time there is an update. I pray for his safe return. This must be a very scary experience for him.

Posted by Orko on Jul-19-2006 15:22:

Guys just let it go, i know its hard.

This thread should be didicated to show support for those fellow TA's/Canadians who are in trouble.

those who really care dont have to start a thread on TA, cause they can contact Karim directly...
and enough of these useless comments guys.

The comment's that I read from Misanthrope honestly make me wonder. Like this poor country is being completely destroyed and yet she claims we shouldn't be overly sensitive. If anything the entire world is being far too lax about the situation. It's unbelieveable that no the UN or other country has stepped in and done something.

what?
I don't know Karim well enough to contact him personally but because I started a thread to share his blog website doesn't mean I don't care.
