theres a sports discussion forum where you can talk about this shit sport. It's mostly futbol there though.

Posted by winston on Jul-26-2006 06:43:

Its not a shit sport, sport!
Its a game of patience and strategy, well its a sport that has been passed on in my family from generation to generation. My grandfather was a "pathetic" Yankee's fan and so is my dad, so you know. Its a good sport, and the season when it gets played, during the sunny summer happens to be my favourite man, so yeah.

I lost all interest in baseball years ago.

Dude Can't believe the freakin Cubs won yesterday, they have the most overrated team IMO.

Enron Fiel is now Minute Maid Park. I've heard its really nice. I've never seen the Ballpark at Arlington, but I doubt anything remotely near Dallas would look horrible.

I may join in, but I've already got one goin with people @ school...& I know how much these damn things can suck you in. We'll see. When's the deadline?

Posted by davemolina on Aug-01-2006 03:18:

I'm still too scarred from the NYTAs handing my ass to me in Fantasy Football to join in...thanks Verndogs!!!

I don't regret talking all that sh*t though.

People that come to Dallas say that the ballpark in Arlingtion is in the top 5 of MLB parks. There really isn't a bad seat in the house. My wife and I have a mini season plan. I am a huge baseball nut and even bigger Ranger fan. Love what they are doind with the team. The GM has balls and is trying to make a winner. Although, they did get their asses handed to them on a chilled plate by the Twins last night.

Dave, even if you aren't a baseball fan, you have to go see the Astros park. My wife's family is from there and they take us to games when we go down there. It's really a pretty cool experience. That park is pretty unique and extremely fan friendly.

Yeah, baseball is a fun sport. Even for those not really into it.

This season has been crazy with all the player inquisitions. I think the Yanks will improve enormously with Bobby Abreu (.277, 8 HRs, 65 RBIss, 20 SBs, major league-leading 91 walks) and Cory Liddle.

As for the Rangers, I think we will see some improvement with Mendoza, that's hot! Bryan Corey for the freakin Red Sox who makes the team even more scary.

Good to see you know your baseball. But, I am not sure that Corey is going to be that much of a factor for the BoSox. Do you know much about the guy that we got in return for him?

I think the biggest surprise for the Rangers is going to be Kip Wells. I played against him in college and know what kind of pitcher he is. He is the type of guy who pitches better when he is in the right environment. He is a Texas boy and now he is healthy again. I think having him, Lee, Cruz, and Stairs in a limited role just made this team much better than what it was.

Luis Mendoza

Mexico City, Mexico
Height: 6-3
Weight: 210
Bats: Right
Throws: Right
Drafted: Not drafted
How Acquired: Claimed off waivers from San Diego (Jul. 2005)

fast and furious.

Exactly the type of game to expect from the Rangers IMO.

Can he play though? He is a 6th and 7th inning guy I assume.
