Are the teen years the best years of our lives?

Im writing a persuasive essay for university agruing that the teens years are the best years of our lives and wondering what you guys think?

Posted by sensorium on Jul-23-2006 02:28:

No, they're not.

Posted by dallastar on Jul-23-2006 02:29:

i would say the 20's are better!

we can do all the drugs we want and it doesnt affect our job or kids or spouse

I prefer my money in 50s.

I think there are essentially two scenerios.

The teens are the best years.
The teens are the worst years.

Many people feel their teen years are the worst at the time, but eventually end up saying they are the best.

Also, alot of the people saying the teen years are the best years, are not old enough to make that judgement.

Anyways, I just want to take this chance to say that I feel your essay subject is really fucking horrible, and I do not see how you can make any good out of it.

I want to double post to stress how fucking stupid your essay is going to be.

What if your professor was an orphan and lived on the streets as a teen. How well can you persuade him into beleiving his teen years were the best.

I really think you should rethink it.

If you want to write a persuasive essay, just take the easy route, and pick someone that you are actually right on.

You're fucking 17 years old or something, you're my age. If you think your teen years are the best, I suggest you end it all when you turn 20, because what is the point of living, if you honestly beleive that life is going to get worse from then on?

I totally agree,i have no idea what to write about.

so far i came up with three agruments

1)school
2)earning enough money is a difficult task
3)freedom is limited

and those are pretty shiitty agruments

Posted by beats and beeps on Jul-23-2006 02:43:

It is just way way way too dependent on the individual, the parents, the area they live in, how much money they have, the era etc.

I suggest you write on something that is more global, and applicable to everyone.

I mean honestly, I think if you right now decided you wanted to be the 999999999999 college kid to write an essay on how making __________ out of hemp, is a better than making ______________ out of ___________, you would be better off than you are now.

holy shit

call him a straw wrapper face for me.

be a punk, and write a persuasive essay, on how why his essay subject was a horrible choice.

There are two outcomes, an A+, or an F.

Posted by sensorium on Jul-23-2006 02:54:

I guess the professor just wants to know who is the most persuasive of his/her students. Can't be mad at him/her for that.

Posted by Mothers on Jul-23-2006 02:59:

It's hard to come up with good agruments for this topic. So far i only came up with 3 shitty agruments.

Or should i examine both yes and no?

Posted by Mothers on Jul-23-2006 03:02:

i'd say more like 16 - 25 because that is when you are allowed more freedom and are able to explore the world while STILL having stable fincial support from your parents and then as you approach the end, you are able to venture out with more confidence and have achieved stability yourself.

I hav no clue what to do.

Posted by sensorium on Jul-23-2006 03:16:

If you feel stuck just think of those arguments against what you're trying to prove. That will help you build a better work or it would help you waste time. Either way, you're doing something.

how about you give me somme GOOD agruements and than i can bullshit the rest of the essay.

That'd be cheating. It would be like making you lazier, making me smarter, making you look good and making me work. TA does not support cheating.

every year is the best year.

Posted by Mothers on Jul-23-2006 03:52:

its such a stupid topic.

Posted by chimera66 on Jul-23-2006 03:52:

18 and 19 are the best teenage years because for most by this time kids move away from home and get their first taste of freedom. living away from home with a whole building of people your own age, parties at least three nights a week, free alcohol, classes for 10 hours a week (if you choose to go), dining halls supply you with meals, a cleaning service cleans your living space, no worries about paying rent, etc and to top it all off you personally aren't currently paying for this whole experience (you might in the next 30 years but that might as well be never in the mind of a college freshman). All the other teen years suck, but this limbo stage was a good time
