3 days ....2hours of sleep....whacky characters......a surreal experience in the DnB section for about 30 mins...ridiculous Techno....more ridiculous techno....terrific vibe.....friendly people....more whacky characters....and some of the worst portaporties and toilets i have ever seen....5 hours of deko-ze back in toronto on sunday morning STRAIGHT from Wemf.....
good fucking times.....
Better be another WEMF....
this can't be it
Thrillseekers
John 00 Fleming
Anne Savage
These guys baaaaallooooooo my mind!!!
Will give a review later...
i did my first ever wemf (just got home)...i saw and met so many people from all walks of life it's crazy and exciting; from candy ravers (underage) to older candy ravers to gino's to hip hop lookin folks, rockers, punks, junglists, dnb fans, beaks fans, trance addict type people, to just plain ol' out to enjoy a weekend of camping with non stop music of all sorts......the people that were the least social, welcoming and outgoing...well how bout i just dont say that on this particular thread. i've seen some seriously sketch parties (every time i've been to guv) but still am not there to judge im there for the music, for the artist, for me, the experience, and with my friends. I had a great time! ....non stop pounding techno in the pit (20 feet from our tent no complaints on that till day 2 when i noticed the dj's played atleast 2 tracks the same as every other dj) then what really felt like 8 yrs of the same jungle song pounding in my head and our tent, massive amounts of dirt dust up my nose and in my lungs and 3 hrs of sleep in 3 days ouchies time to catch up and recoup.... but still no passing judgement! :P If they ever decide to get different names and stop allowing jungle to be played for 24 hrs straight louder then any other stage with same sounding beat over and over again and not at tweed, im so there!
Ps/ Ben great to see u! always smiling and sayin hi and well of course, dancing hehe
(not up for editing and spell checking right now apologize if my typing skills suck today im so tired!)
after getting lost on the way home trying to get back on the 401 after dropping my friends off in waterloo........ *i still think your town is poorly designed theresa* i finally made it home.
overall i had a great time as usual. tweed again proved itself to be the shitties venue of all time...... but i was expecting that. the dust was driving me mad. that stuff got everywhere.
as far as the sets go, friday night i really didnt get into it until chris liberator, and dave the drummer. both had awesome techno sets
after the outdoor stages closed, i spend the rest of the night and early morning going to the hardcore stage and the camp site.
after getting about 30 mins of sleep, putted around for the day and the night got started with a bang...
OS/2 owned me..... hands down one of my fav sets of the night
Jelo... see above line
Scott Stubbs - i give him an A++++ for track selection and an F---- for mixing and general beatmatching skills....
Thrillseakers and J00f rocked as well. near the end of john's set, he busted out some really dirty psy trance.....
frankly i was kind of dissapointed in mark EG's set, i was half expecting a slammin hard trance set to break us in for anne savage but we got techno instead. and i just wasnt feeling it, so i went back to my tent until anne saveage came on.
her set was just plain awesome. i had a blast rippin up the lawn with the TA's front and center. i ended up goin to bed at about 6:30 to try and get a couple hours of sleep so i could drive home.
all in all i had a great time. but i kind of felt that destiny didnt quite deliver like they have in the past.
ok now time for sleep....

lars, which ta's was i chilling with this morning before i left wemf?
i know there was you and sarah...
btw, the drive home was so fun and relaxing.
wemf WAS SICK
soo crazy, so many people, SOO MUCH FUCKING DIFFERENT MUSIC.
We found a good spot with grass behind us, and 3mins walk to both the TA stage and DnB stage. I cant imagine how shitty it was for people who were sleeping in the dirt in the middle. TA stage was top notch btw, with no fucking dust and nice sound/lights. Djs were great too, altho saturday at like 5 dj was fucking up enough at least like 5 times in 20mins.
Great beach and clear (in the morning) water. WTF was up with not letting people swim, we had to literaly campaign on beside the fence until they let us into the beach.
Lol at all the abandoned tracktors, cars, garbage, barrels... some parts of Trudeu park seemed post nuclear.
once again WEMF OWNED!

haha i was wondering how much fun u were having tryin to get pics! ours are pretty blurry and well there's a certain angle that makes me look like a cartoon character..ya most are that damn angle oh well im not perfect by far but like to have a blast anyways hehe. least we got 1 pic from someone else thanks hehe
ya the brown/black "boogers" were just plain annoying and still having some issues with it lol not to mention the nostrils arent meant to be exfoliated! lol
lastnight i finally figured out how to zip up the sleeping bag only to find a HUGE pile of sand in it that i had to shake out .. tent looks like a beach volleyball court lol michelle slept through all my huffing and puffing and throwing of sleeping bag then there was sleep! hehehe
great times for sure!

| Originally posted by chinamon lol. when i went to sit down i didnt realize that i would be sitting directly infront of a huge stack of speakers. then i felt a little blood drip from my ear and knew i had to get up. lol] and that girl that sat between us.. she was trying to say something to me and i wanted to say "if you want to talk to me, pick somewhere better than in front of the fucking speaker". we will meet again, i am sure. ![]() and i dont like how the pic of you turned out. the fucking lighting on and near the stage was pretty hard to work with because i didnt want to use automatic mode on my camera. sometimes 1/2 second shutter would work great, other times 1/30 second shutter is required. and the lighting changed so often. ugh. THANKS JAYX1 FOR MAKING MY LIFE COMPLICATED! |
actually ta stage front no grass back had barely there grass that didnt stop the dust! i think by sat night tho the humidity and stomping had made it more solid then friday night bust still i choked for a good 10 minutes after jelo's set saturday while tryin to walk to his site lol he thought i was dying lol
but dnb people dancing on sand is def a HUGE no no i only went there during day when it wasnt as busy hehe

| Originally posted by Engine9 hhmmm i duno, TA stage was mostly grass DNB on the other hand was fucking DIIIIRRRTTTT, especially when capital J came on. It was like everybody dancing tadada fast music, kicking dust with their feet, then boom dj gives a little break every1 stops and all you see is a giant cloud of dust all over and you are in it. Breathing it in. so in comparison, i'd say TA stage was good |
