Advice on this mixer please

I'am looking at getting this mixer for the sole purpose of recording a my synths into fl studio via the soundcard.
Alesis Multimix 6

After listening to your opions on the behringer line of mixes is there anything I need to know about this in terms of quality?

Many thanks

Hi,
I've had the earlier versions of those (MX802A) for almost 10 years now. I stupidly spilt a full glass of wine on it halfway through that life. The thing is like an army tank. I still use it and it is a fine unit.

I would worry though about the one you are talking about. It looks like they have traded a good output level meter for some FX chip. You want that the other way around on a mixer and keep those fx external.
Anyways, thats my school......

Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyy that's my mixer!

I own one. It's a handy dandy little basic work horse. Working on getting an Alesis Firewire 12.

Those are the hot babys.

Hot.

Many thanks for the replys guys.

I thought having a samll mixer for the purpose of connecting synths / computer / hardware effects would be easy but there are just so many fecking similar models out there the choice is quite hard.

I had really wanted a behringer untill some of you pointed out the quality issues which I was unware of so I was attracted to this model because of the cheap price and it seemed to do everything I want from it.

A multi channel soundcard sounds good but I will probley go for that when I upgrade my computer later on in the year ( Have to get a car first ). And even that's not an easy choice with all the diffrent chipsets out there but then that's a whole diffrent question! lol
