Would u go to an end of summer BBQ on TO Island?
I'm looking into alternative locations to our annual end-of-summer TA BBQ, since last years got too big for our yard, and we've spent most of the summer this year trying to enjoy our yard and landscape it, so I'd rather not trash it again.
It may be too short notice to get approved for a block party permit, but I'm trying to look into it, as well as another possible location. I know some of my neighbors will be disappointed if we don't throw it here, that's for sure.
Anyways, having attended the Tribe BBQ this year on Hanlans Point, it seemed like a nice place to throw a party. Obviously its a slight bit more of a hassle to get there & haul equipment, you're dependant on their ferry system to get there (at $6/head), and we'd have to keep our noise to a certain level (but Hanlans Point is the furthest away from the Islanders so it shouldn't be too much off an issue). Charcoal bbq's are the only ones allowed, and you'd obviously have to hide your booze. Toilets are on the premises.
What say you?
I'd do it. There's more than enough room for all of us at Hanlans Point.
i think if tribe can do it, we can do it
id do it... but i dont know if i'll be here

Definately!

I've played at the tribe BBQ two years now and it is indeed a really nice spot for a BBQ. this year we were asked to turn it down by the group down from us, but not from anyone "official."
Good call Nat, I'd go.

Being out of the city, working 2 jobs and going to summer school, I probably wouldn't be much help in planning...but someone (or some people) take this off Nat's hands! She should be planning her WEDDING!! Hahahaha
Anyway, as far as the BBQ goes...as long as I can get my booze there I wouldn't mind the extra hassle. It'd be worth it!
P.S. How hard would it be to hide the booze? Do you mean just going along the ferry or does the location we will be at not allow alcohol either?
Has WEMF taught us nothing? Vodka in water bottles, and beer in apple juice bottles.
