Yes, the guy from both videos is the same. He got the deal for the commercial due to the success of the first video.

The strobe light effect is an advanced technique for lockers/poppers but it's isn't impossible. I can get it down with my hands and arms every once in a few tries.

It has to do with locking the joints almost instantaneously and then quickly gliding (fast movement) to another lock, where the hands/arms would end up had a strobe light been on. The key is to keep this entire process in proper intervals, producing the strobe effect.
