now i get to see massive attack live.
ill be goin on the sunday to catch MA and zero7
too bad we dont have as electronic a lineup as the baltimore one but meh
to be honest, i think this line up is pretty weak. i'd love to see massive attack, but when comparing it to the isle of wight festival or t in the park or something, it's just kinda meh. not enough bands i'd care to see, which is unfortunate cos i'd really love to go to a festival.

I'm in for Saturday and Sunday!!
While the line up may be less than stellar, I have no doubt we can make it a weekend to remember...

Amon Tobin just added to the bill for Day 2, dope!
quote:
Amon Tobin New
Somewhere back in the mid-90's a fresh faced Brazilian ex-pat living in the UK decided he was going to put down his harmonica, pick up a sampler, and name himself after a Stephen King novel. The resulting album, Cujo's 'Adventures In Foam' (released on Ninebar records, later reissued on Ninja Tune) signaled Amon Tobin's entry into the world of music. Well actually there's a pre-Cujo project also, but everybody knows not to talk about it... but if you get Amon really drunk... actually no, even then he won't play it for you. More Info
The Mooney Suzuki New
In 1997, during spring semester at Parsons School of Design in New York City, Graham Tyler answered a "musicians wanted" flier placed in local record shops by Sammy James, then a student at School of Visual Arts. The team of singer/songwriter Sammy James Junior and lead guitarist Graham Tyler has remained the heart of The Mooney Suzuki since. More Info
Born Ruffians New
Dress casual with buttoned up songwriting, curtails of slinking melodies, a rock and roll top hat with a walking stick used to make room for dancing.
With electric guitar, electric bass guitar, a set of drums and the occasional interjection from a trombone, keyboard, shlang dang or jazz flute, their music is tightly knit into a rock and roll top hat, from which they pull out a dancing, indie rabbit

apparently Kid Koala is playing on Day 1 as well!
quote:
Kid Koala New
In 1974, Kid Koala a.k.a Eric San was born in Vancouver, Canada. By the time he was twelve years old, and after years of classical piano lessons, the young Eric discovered an increasingly popular sound that he would eventually make all his own. After making his first "scratch" on his sisters record player, he began saving his money from paper routes to buy his first turntable set-up.
Ok guys, I like to think of myself as somewhat of a V Festival veteran having attended the last 7 consecutive ones in the UK....
The first year I went, there were 25000 people. Last week, there were 125000 - I assure you that as popularity grows, as does the line-up standard (and the ticket price). I have just booked my tickets for V2007 next year at home but I will definitely be at the first Canadian V Fesival.
It is a great way to see new acts showcase their talents - my favourite newbie from V2006 was Paolo Nutini. Kasabian, Radiohead, Faithless, Keane, Groove Armada, Paul Weller, Magic Numbers, Lily Allen, Xavier Rudd, Canada's Daniel Powter all rocked my world over the weekend! I think the Canadian line-up is good for the expected size of the event...
I will be seeing;
Gnarls Barkley
Razorlight
Muse
Starsailor
Massive Attack
The Strokes
Zero 7
amongst as many others as I can manage!
Are there many TAs going?
Not quite as big A DJ line up as the US, but the stage was only confirmed as happening a couple of weeks ago.
plus I get to play, so I'm pretty happy about that!
- Evan

I spent a lot of time in the Bacardi tent at home as well as the Strongbow tent. Great for when the bands are not your cup of tea!
I will make sure to come and see you Evan!
looks like i'm going now on sunday.
my roommate's friend bailed on her, so i am getting the ticket for my bday present.

Indeed, I have been too devastated to post which is why I told Nic.
I am not sure how I feel about this at all - this was THE band for me.
Oh well, we will still have a great time.
