En.K, he put the 'Search' image in his post, because he wants you to follow the policy for tranceaddict that you should search the forums for previous threads on the topic you were asking about before posting a new topic.

Chances are, what you want to talk about has already been covered many times over. In this case, it has, and using the search feature would find you the info you're looking for. Don't take the rudeness too seriously, some people just get angry at people for asking questions that have already been answered many times over.

He wasn't saying 'Honestly.' as a way to mock you for your interest in DJ'ing, certainly every DJ here had a period at which they didn't know what they do now.

Hope I've helped to explain in a few more words what Rebel Brown meant.

In response to your question about how many people DJ for a living: I think there are a few who DJ for a living on TA.

There are tons who DJ, and there are (more I think) people who just love Trance here. The DJs are mostly bedroom DJs or casual DJs. There are plenty who do it as second job though, and you'll even find a few producers kicking around here.

There is also a group of big-name DJs who post on here every now and then. Check out this thread for more about that:

The very basics you're going to practice DJ'ing are:

And those are the very basics. If you use google, there are lots of DJ tutorials around the web that might help you.

well... i guess I'm not hardcore enough to beatmatch without headphones

by noise-cancelling I mean circumaural ... ie it filters out outside noise so you cna hear what the headphones are playing

This is how you get intelligent, on-point responses out of people.

Ok fair shout.

Noise cancelling (well, active noise cancelling at least) normally means they've got little microphones on the outside to detect outside sound, which it then plays inverted through the headphones to literally cancel out outside noise Thought you were being a bit excessive... I wouldn't trust myself holding a pair of them, let alone DJing with them haha

Posted by rustyryan on Jul-27-2006 18:43:

heh.. yea a better word probably would have been noise-blocking.

and yes.. true noise cancelling headphones would definitely be overkill.

have they even made a pair that work reliably?
