okeay...i have a problem......
I'm a beginning dj and have some problems with beatmatching

first of all i find it very difficult to match the beats exactly
do you have any tips?...

my 2nd question is how do you professionals make the perfect mix when the beats are matched good? because sometimes when they are equal i can't finish the mix decent because the pitch of the record changes...

pleaz help me,

start off with something that is not hard to mix in or out of....so u get an idea and boost up your beat matching skills, once u feel more comfortable then sky is the limit

I took a couple of weeks before I even considered myself to be "passable". I hated my transitions then; they sounded anything but smooth. As time went on, however, I began to get a little better, then I sucked, then I got a little better.. get the idea.

I mix since about 4 months and now I can beatmatch very well (sometimes I make errors but it's going better and better).
I suppose it depends on how is your feeling with music. Someone who plays an instrument will take less time to know how to beatmatch correctly.

Yes, it is true that practicing is important.
However, you'll feel good about practicing, and you'll want to do it again and again, only when you have a set of good records that you love.

If you just pick up two arbitrary vinyl records and start learning, you'll probably have to "force" yourself to do it, or you'll only get half as much fun out of it, which is not good.

This is from my personal experience.

practice by playing two same records... i know i know you probably dont have two of the same records but if you do ... . thats a great way to practice beatmatching... that will get your ears in tune so that you can recognize if one record is playing faster or slower then the other....this is key esp. since you are going to need to mess around with the pitch/speed adjustments remember everyone is going to tell you something different because everyone is so different in the way they spin and beatmatch. just remember to train your ears ....and then you set the pitch and push and pull the record to make adjustments or whatever u feel comfortable with..... there are many ways to fine-tune a mix all you have to do is try different things and see what works for you and practice till your nose bleeds =) lol

i know that practicing gets tedious because you get tired of hearing the same songs over and over again but just keep at it.. at first keep it simply by simply just trying to get the beats to match.. then you can start w/ counting beats so you can practice actual transitions.. just remember, learn how to walk before you try to run!
