The ultimate @home DJ laptop???

Imagine rocking this with your DJ setup

http://www1.ca.dell.com/content/pro...s=dhs&cs=CADHS1

I spec'd it at (CANADIAN PRICES):

Intel Core T2400 Duo Processor (1.83GHz/667MHz FSB)
Genuine Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005
2GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz (2 Dimms)
200GB (2 x 100)7200RPM High Performance RAID Hard Drives
Integrated Creative SoundBlaster High Definition Audio
3 Yr Return to Depot Service with 3 Yr Complete Care and 3 Yr Tech Support

@ $4,758

SO WORTH IT
(Although it costs more than my bike )

Fully loaded you're looking at $9000 before tax with basic warranty and no software

F*cking thing is sooooo sexy!
If I had a job where a company would buy me a laptop, I'd claim that one!!!

its got alot of funky shit you dont need such as the microphone and shit. you dont even need that soundcard because you're prolly gonna get an external in the end anyway.

I'd take a shit on that Dell and then go buy a MacBook Pro (after they fix the current problems of course)

Posted by Zild on Jul-27-2006 18:52:

LOL even though you can run OSX on that Dell just fine and it won't burn your legs and it costs half the price of a macbook pro. I guess not everyone can be a winner though.

Posted by punjabi on Jul-27-2006 19:57:

1) That Dell does NOT cost half of a MacBook Pro, as you can see in the first post.
2) How often do you DJ with the laptop actually on your lap?
3) A PC will never run OSX as well as a Mac.

I used to be scared of the idea of a dell laptop but now I know so many people who have them and I dont see what the big deal is. Great price and great build quality.

Apple is the worst thing to happen to this planet. They could have had a chance but nooo they were way to cocky and thought they would suceed. WRONGGGGGGGGGG. They fucked themselves over.

Speak for yourself son.

A 15" Dell is about $1100 a 15" macbook pro is $2000.

And if you don't think the operating system works the same on identical hardware then well why don't you go learn a little bit about computers instead of getting your throat filled by the cult of apple. I know you just love the way it fills you up.

I know... a company over 30 years old, with what, at least $4 BILLION in the bank, and they aren't sucessful?

Just because Porsche doesn't sell as many cars as Ford, they are total losers and didn't make it...

So you think there is no reason that all the big DJ's use a macbook? Your kidding yourself if you think there is no difference. I'd be going with a Macbook RPo and upgrading it to 2 gigs ram.

Nothing against Mac, I have friends that have them, and I don't mind them, really its personal preference, and we should all begin to see that MacBooks, iPods, and a ton of other Apple products are indeed a trend at this moment, and things will shift just as they have for years and another massive media conglomerate will take the claim to fame on something far superior eventually. But in the meantime, this is funny shit
