Confused When website directions go bad...

ugh.

..and yes that was the directions for both the 'fastest' and 'shortest' routes....

I don't get it. What's the problem? You're given a route, follow it, and don't argue.

They still haven't fixed that? Why do people even bother using MSN maps lol

I used to be against Google Maps...but I'm not gonna lie...it works. I've been fucked over by some map websites in the past...but never with Google Maps!

One thing i dont get about google maps is why does it always give the estimated time of journey about an hour longer than other online map services.

Im a fan of mapquest but i use google local when i need to travel innercity.

Posted by geroin on Jul-27-2006 22:53:

i've used yahoo maps before google maps even existed and everything was fine

Apparently not. An example would be this weekend when we were to head to tweed. Google maps gave us 5 hours 45 minutes while mapquest estimated 4 hours 30 and mapquest was spot on.

It was the same scenario when we went to new york couple weeks back as well.

the only thing i hate about google maps is that, if you're looking for a small city or town, it doesn't always show its name on the map, even though that's what you searched for.

when i'm trying to decipher where a location of a potential contract is in relation to places i'm familiar with, it not always clear.

In relation to that, I don't like how it doesn't give you street names when you print off the actual map part. (Or maybe I'm just not doing it right?) It only prints off major street names usually. If it's a long trip I don't want to be zooming in and having to print off those indivual areas all the time.

The street names would have been useful when Cale, his sister and I went shopping in the States back in May. We were going from Somerset Mall to the Olive Garden and there was construction where Google Maps took us. We tried to take the detour and figure out where to go...but the detour just led us to a certain direction and then faded off, so we had no idea how to get back to where we wanted to be.
