I honestly don't get the hate that these DJs receive on a consistent basis here. I got there around 4 and Peter Bailey was on. Shortly after, Richie Santana. Then Choo Choo. And Johnny Vicious after that. I was there till 10. And... oddly enough, I didn't hear ONE bad song. House music that just makes you need to dance. From all four of them. Sure, the crowd is fucking weak. Guido central. But everyone is there to just have a good time. My friend and I didn't fit in with that crowd at all, but no one seemed to care. We danced the whole time. People should stop hating on these DJs simply because they play in NJ to the "guido" crowd. Who goes to the clubs these DJs spin at has no bearing on the quality of the tunes and mixing.

| Originally posted by Shamez214 What does that have to do with Richie Santana? Or Boris? They get so much hate and I really think it is ONLY because they play in Jersey for the "NJ Guido" crowd. Half the people who hate on them have probably never even heard them before. And Johnny Vicious played really good house last night. I didn't expect it, but he did. |

I left sometime after 6pm. I personally don't like Surf Club either but I still go there because of good house music parties there and because of the private beach. The crowd is seasonable there and same as the one that frequents JP & Boris in the City. (I never give a shit who is at a party because I only come for the music anyway) It is the only club I know that opens at 9am and wouldn't admit anybody under 21 years of age until after 9pm. Last week during Victor Calderone party, it was over 120 degrees inside the club. The sound system is extremely horrible there. The linoleum on the dance floor inside the club is really wacky since its always wet and the only possible dance there that works out without slipping is Michael Jackson's "Moon Walk".
After taking all that into consideration; I still get a kick out of the fact that my friends and I can come there after clubbing all night in the city and chill out on the beach chairs chit-chatting while getting a tan, taking swims in the ocean, drinking booze and listening to great house music all in the same time.

The music wasn't very commercial at all. I heard that horrible "Bada ba ba baba babadabada" song. But other than that, I barely heard anything else I even recognized. No gay vocals. No random, repetitive SF coke-head music. Just good house music that, if played by Sander Kleinenberg or one of the SHM dudes, would be praised and adored by half the people who hate on the same music when it's spun by Richie Santana.
Also... for those that were there, Harry Romero played a jam that Sander used to play all last summer. It's got lyrics that go "If you see a chance, you better take it..." Anyone know the name of that? I've been told before that it's Bini & Martini - Something, but I've never been able to find that.
yo im feelin your cherish video avatar...
It's the song and video that made me fall in love with Madonna.
