Paul Van Dyk - For an Angel (Marc van Linden mix)

Does anyone know if Paul Van Dyk - For an Angel (Marc van Linden mix) has ever been released? I can't find it on discogs.

Posted by Gauss on Jul-29-2006 21:50:

Nope, it's unreleased.

Dammit!! That really sucks. Does anyone know when it was made, ie: how old is it?

Posted by Vandict on Jul-30-2006 09:53:

Must be just over a year ago when Paul first started playin it

Posted by Tangil on Jul-30-2006 12:56:

Each to their own.

Amazing tune.
Never couldnt understand the big deal about the original, but this version gives it the balls it needed to be a cracking trancer.

And, if its good enough for PVD to play instead of the original, then its good enough for me !

I think its pretty good, but i dont think it is THAT good for Paul to play it the last tune of every set he has done in the last year or so.....change the record Paul.

Pun intended

Agreed.

However the MVL mix of For An Angel can be tolerated...

I hope it never gets released.

Agreed. But I don't mind the song, not a patch on the e-werk mix though...

Posted by THE_Chris on Aug-02-2006 22:31:

Its an ok track but the added piano roll is shameful and MvL should be slated for even considering putting it in.

Posted by TRNG on Aug-03-2006 00:17:

YEs i thought the same,i was liking the track and thinking it was ok and all was going fine. but then i heard a piano roll.. completely out of the blue and uncalled for, what a waste of track time.

Posted by Tangil on Aug-03-2006 02:22:

i could be mistaken, but isn't there a piano roll in the original for an angel?

yeah it isn't new, was definitely in one of the old versions; it got used in the UK radio edit back in 1998

does anyone have a complete remixography of the tune, out of interest? including all the versions paul put out, i swear i've heard at least 3 different mixes by him

Posted by thesuperfunk on Aug-03-2006 16:07:

As far as i know Paul is responsible for 2 mixes (Original/E-Werk) and the radio edit (PvD Angel In Heaven Radio Edit). Ashtrax did 2 mixes and Way Out West/Terry Lee Brown Jnr both did a mix.

The rest have been unofficial mixes like the Marco V bootleg Paul did a couple of years back.

Was Fingers Burnt - For a Devil an official one?

Posted by Mr.Mystery on Aug-03-2006 16:29:

Nope, all the Fingers releases are bootlegs.

hm, i thought there was another mix by paul, remember one that sounded pretty much like the e-werk only more energetic with an offbeat bassline. unless that was the original & i have my wires crossed somewhere
