Roadtrip ideas?
Long weekend is coming up and I was thinking about taking a sponteneous roadtrip with my guy..
Anyone have ideas for a fun getaway with cool sights that won't break the bank? I'm thinking Ontario/Quebec region.
Any suggestions would be super appreciated
Toronto -> Tobermory -> Manitoulin Island -> Sault Ste Marie -> train to Agawa Canyon!
manitoulin(sp?) island is really nice this time of year(thats if you like outdoors stuff). they have really good fishing and camping on the island. you have to take the che-che-mon (a ferry) from espanola which takes you on lake huron. you can stop and see the big nickel mine and science north in sudbury on the way. its only 6 hours so its not that far, and dont think it would be that expensive.
i have never been. i remember all of this from a grade 6 project, but i know people that have gone and said they had a blast.

Ah, just a few days.
For an all-out roadtrip, Trans-Canada Highway all the way to Tofino in BC, then cross the border and drive down US 1 (Pacific Coast Highway) all the way down to Costa Mesa, California. Then all the way back.
That'd be awesome.
The Chi-Cheemaun Ferry connects Tobermory (Bruce Peninsula, mainland) to Manitoulin Island and yes - it is a very nice trip.
It's hard to put "road trip" and "three day weekend" in the same sentence...so many places to go...
We are going to do a 9 day trip in September...
Washington DC
Altantic City
NYC
Can't wait!

a co-worker went to check out the whales in the st-lawrence river east of quebec. Its about a 10h trip from Toronto.
You take the boat for about 3 hours and it sails close to the huge mammals, could be different.
It's all about Timmins baby!
On your way you'll pass the highway bookstore, the earlton zoo, a couple of moose and about six Husky gas stations.
Im having a blast in my home town, lol

thanks for all the suggestions so far.. I've been wanting to go to Tobermory for a while so that may be the way to go. It would probably be best to combine it with some camping.. that is if I can still find available spaces on campgrounds there!
The whale watching on St Lawrence sounds awesome too! Maybe combine that with a stopover in Quebec City.. could be nice
