Saw him at Buzz in DC about a week ago.. He spins really hard techno. Sounds half-progressive, half techy.. Can't really explain it very well.

Think Green Velvet - La La Land (Filterheadz Remix) type of stuff. Personally, I liked Mistress Barbara a bit more than him, but they are both spinning the same genre and they are both really good.

Definitely worth seeing.

Saw him last year at Area one. Did a better job than Oakenfold IMHO.

they are in two separate genres....its like me saying the toronta raptors did a better job at defense than the Denver Broncos..

Posted by Plaptop on Mar-06-2002 18:28:

OK let me rephrase.. I enjoyed his set more and think he would have had a better response from the crowd if he was over hyped as well

Posted by TimeportE on Mar-06-2002 19:40:

i never saw him live but i had 2 videos of him mixing (one at dance valley) and OMG does that guy have mixing skills or what.. i just stared at the screen when he was mixing 3 vinyls at the same time.. at it sounded great, i almost jumped on my chair and danced (ALMOST! ) ..

I'm thinking of going on the 16th also - missed him in Chicago 2 saturdays ago, I heard he spun a kick ass set. I like his style so it should be worth it.

That seems to be the opinion of everyone who saw him there. I've talked to at least 6 people who have said the same thing. 6 might not seem like alot, but I've only talked to 6.... so that'a 100% Cox wsa better than Oakie rating so far.

UWMAD... u goin to quest then?? obviously he cant be 2 places at once.. haha.. whatever. maybe ill see ya there!

come to tiesto and S+D too if they go!

anwyays, thanks.

and for the Area:One topic... Cox's set was much more "fun" than oakie's.. paul seemed like he was just there because he was gettin paid. i still love the guy, but not a whole lot of energy that night.

uwmad and I are going. Yes, at Quest. Cox played at Crobar a week or two ago in Chicago, but we weren't able to get down there to see it. When are Tiesto and Sasha and Digweed supposed to be there ? There is no way I will be missing Tiesto. uwmad saw him last time, but I wasn't able to get there. No way in hell I'll miss him again.

*Marks a note on the calendar for April 21st* God that's gonna be rough. My parents are flying up the night before... we'll see how that goes.

Yea, I go to UW-Madison. uwmad and I live together. he's the one who intro'd me to TA.

Saw him few weeks ago !! He spinned alot of hard stuff ! Hard techno and some hard prograssive !! His set was interesting but not super amazing, Maybe because Max Graham was spinning before him

Posted by uberclkgtr on Mar-07-2002 05:06:

Saw Cox spin in DC last weekend for the first time. The guy is amazing! Definitely go see him!

Most of his stuff was drum-based techno, stuff like Picotto would spin, but with a housy flavor. He's awesome to watch DJ too...lots of energy that really gets the crowd movin'.

I agree with u in this.. (specially the "can`t really explain very well" part).

I saw him last month, he was grrrreat! He even played some samba stuff (samba with electronic music, i dont remember the name of the song but he has played it b4).
