[DD] Luke Terry vs Sonic The Hedgehog - Chemical

Anybody who can remember the Chemical Zone in Sonic 2 for the Sega Mega Drive will sharp remember what this is all about. Originally made as a kind of joke, a bit in the style of Ferry Corsten's L.E.F. but I quite like it actually.

Anyways, it's up for free download on my website in the news section

www.luketerry.com

Anybody who is crazy enough to play this in a club or on the radio, I would love to hear reactions or see videos lol. The very brave who do provide videos will be rewarded

Luke

downloading

sounds interesting..

Damn you, I always wanted to remix that - it's just about the best thing ever written for a game!

Posted by richg101 on Aug-01-2006 14:21:

huge percussions here. really really driving!

jesus this is raw. id love it more with the high blippy arp at one octave lower. its a bit too high i think.

this really has a big room feel to it. this would rock a dancefloor big time.

main melody is bringing back memories actually this sounds like very hard psytrance to me.

i think this would rock if you did a dub version without the fun sonic melodies. just like a hard tech trance dub mainly based on the percs.

great production quality and a drive to die for!

Hey dude
I can't believe you remixed this song. It brought back tons of memories. I agree with rich about the blips they would sound better an octave lower. I think the little sonic melodies are awesome though. I'd love to hear this out. Keep it up man.

Quite frankly this is a work of genius.

Dammit, i was just playing some Sonic the other day and thinking how coool this tune would be to remix.

I don't really like the step up in the bass at the end of the 2nd measure of the phrase, but other than that everything is kickass.

Huge props for finishing this, and it looks like I'll hafta pick a different level's theme to remix now

I do, although I'm expecting a proper chord progression each time I listen to it. I also feel the track could use some more effects, but I guess Luke did not spend endless hours working on it, as it was made for fun.

Good stuff nonetheless, bassline & percs in particular.

MARBLE ZONE!!!

Cool remix Luke, sounds just like the megadrive version with a beat. Great work!

LOL! you tool, you actually finished this track funny what one midi link can make you do.

sounds good, no crits. i would prolly go nuts in a club if i heard it being played, it would be hilarious and awesome at the same time.

buuuuttt it's all about the flying battery zone, that track owns.

EDIT: just showed brandon this one, he says, "i would go NUTS if i heard this in a club. i'd make sonic drowning noises all over the goddam place"

Not a Sonique fan but this is an impressive track. Composition is awesome, congrats on your track my friend.

cheers for the replies guys. yea it was just a quick silly effort, done in a few hours or so -trying to keep the original melody sounds quite similar to the sonic sounds. was gonna put ring gather samples in and stuff but it didn't sound quite right.

lookin forward to anybody who is insane as me to play it live lol
