Alfonso Cuaron's CHILDREN OF MEN

Concept blows my mind, what if this really happened...

What can I say?

I enjoyed it. A lot. Had a very 28 Days Later vibe to it.

Dude, I think it just premiered this Christmas. In theatres. So no.

Oh and I actually saw it today. Great movie.

I liked the movie overall although i had my gripes about the first half being at times extremely boring (although it may have been intentional to show the "moping around" of humans in that period of time), and some scenes+dialogue seemed so rushed (the kidnapping/negotiation/release of Owen).
But the second half is just wonderful and awesome.

btw, there is no fucking way they could have done the 3 "one seamless shots." i refuse to believe there would be up to 7 minutes of dialogue/explosions/stunts done in one take.
1. The car ride with all the dialogue, then the attack/chase, cop shooting
2. The escape from renegade Fishes camp, pushing of a car down a hill, fighting Fishes, jump starting a car and getting away
3. Clive Owen being shot at with guns, tank explosions, running through corridors while being shot out.

either the directorial talents of Cauron are phenomenal or the Technical Advisor is a Wizard

Woo Clive Owen!

First movie I saw with him was years ago -- Croupier

...I remember laughing a lot of times throughout because in some shots he looked like a PvD clone

I've seen a lot of movies in my life...

I wouldn't call myself an expert by any stretch, but I enjoy most movies, good or bad and appreciate that film can be an art-form, most often it's not, but it certainly has the possibility to be as such. There are a lot of great movies out there, and there are several that I would classify as my favourite works of film.

I saw this film tonight and before it was even over, I had decided that it was the single greatest film I had ever seen in my life. I'm not going to say it's the 'best movie ever made' because, having not seen the majority of movies ever made, I am not one to be able to make such a remark, but I am confident that this is the most beautifully-made and emotionally evocative movie I've ever seen before. The themes of this film were overwhelming at times - in short, it encapsulated so much of the human condition in its story and filming, it could be analyzed for years to come and still continue to have meaning.

The drawback of such a beautiful piece of film is that most people will not see it. Further, most people who see it will simply not understand it. That is not to say that the plot is overcomplicated and that people will not 'get it', but I am certain that the vast majority of people who see this movie will not realize the full significance and the beauty of such an allegory that tries to convey so much about human nature and the true simplicity behind the miracles that we take for granted in every moment of our waking lives.

I saw CoM this past Thurs and I have to say that it is brilliant filmaking. You go through such a broad range of emotions in this film one minute you're laughing, sad, or on the edge of your seat etc. Definatetly see this if get the chance.

can't wait, going to see this tomorrow night. one of my best friends is a film critic and a very harsh one at that and he gave this one his most humble "we're not worthy" bow.

Absolutely amazing film, one of the best Ive seen this year. The handheld camera work and the actions scenes are all top notch. Not to mention the acting but its the quality of film making that really stands out.

from a seasoned movie watcher, as in i watch about 3 movies a week for the last 15 years, I must say this movie was incredibly brilliant. Totally my type of movie. has a 1982 feel to it. loved it
