Be Cool! 2006 - 2007 NCAA Football Official Thread

Oh yes it is back after last year's succesfull thread of 200+ posts Im bringing it back.

After a really entertaining season and season with a bunch of "name" players we start a new again. Preseason Top 25 which means jack shit has Texas #1 to start but that usually is the kiss of death.

Pre-Season Standings:

AP Top 25

1. Texas (65)

2. USC

3. Penn State

4. Ohio State

5. West Virginia

6. LSU

7. Virginia Tech

8. Alabama

9. Notre Dame

10. Georgia

11. TCU

12. Florida

12. Oregon

14. Auburn

15. Wisconsin

16. UCLA

17. Miami (FL)

18. Boston College

19. Louisville

20. Texas Tech

21. Clemson

22. Oklahoma

23. Florida State

24. Nebraska

25. California

I will be most definitly living in Europe for this season but will be able to watch if the satelite works but will most likely miss alot of them .

Will be rooting for Syracuse again but for them to be .500 lol. Overall got to go for the Big East teams but really my team is Penn State again and BC who will really miss Kiwanuka on the D-line.

Season starts literally at the end of the month on the 31st but the great game is the monday nighter!

FSU vs Miami

i was thinking to take more videos so I can put it up on youtube

god! notre dame is the new USC right now. people are going to overhype them, and say they are the best team out there and everything. Frankly, i think Quinn is going to have an alright year, and still win the Heisman, because of the hype. I am not saying he is a bad quarterback, but there are better ones out there. I think he is not going to have much success in the pros, because he is more of a "system" quarterback, rather than a "natural" quarterback. Then again, all past Heisman winner quarterbacks have done basically shit the past 30 years, so what's new, right? haha.

but i am real interested to see how USC is going to look like, now that they lost Leinert, Bush, and White. People say they are still good, but that's on paper.

Yeah, but USC did live up to the hype??? Except for Vince Young last January. But I mean, I don't think USC could have been overhyped really.

I hate college football, but the only thing I can root for is Charlie Weis, cause he's a genius, so go ND!!!

why do you hate college football?

Posted by King Ecnal on Aug-03-2006 03:54:

The BCS and there have never been good college football teams around here, BC Eagles just aren't my bag, and I don't know, its just not really big up here. I never got into it. I always take the pro game(NFL) over the college ball. I'm weird...

Oregon alma mater biaaches. Oregon's 12th... woo hoo. I'd be shocked they actually finish that high.

eh...that's a prevailing thought up here in the northeast

however, you can't beat their OT system for deciding games...adds much more drama when the game is tied at the end

I will admit, over the last two years, I've been more intrigued by NCAA football. Pete Carroll and his USC machine really made me think twice. I know everyone hates USC, because they can out-recruit everyone, but that USC-NOTRE DAME game specifically last year, was one of the best games of any sport, that I've ever seen... so its growing on me, but its just really hard to focus on college football here, but maybe the whole move from the Big East to the ACC will help that over the years, at least they're hoping.

Notre Dame and their persistance for playing Independently pisses me off yes I know Adidas/NBC and more sponsors come with it but It just really sucks.

I hate them too

I always thought of it as Notre Dame is Notre Dame; one of the most storied college football programs. NBC has been with Notre Dame since the early 90's, so its obviously worthwhile. They keep renewing the tv contract with ND, so they must be the smartest move, money and value wise...

plus the obvious... Notre Dame have a SHITLOAD of fans across the country... every Irish PRICK I know... is a die hard Notre Dame fan... its like a badge of honor, or the thing to do, because they're the "Fighting Irish." I think its stupid, but that's how it goes...

Thanks for the info though.

Notre Dame games when good will outrate anything else on the TV at that time no matter if #1 is playing #2 on ABC its that sad

Of course, if the Vols keep doing what they're doing right now, California will be the first upset team (at least in the top 10).

I saw this 'upset' coming a mile away
How could they even dare having Cal as a fave playing at Tenn. Ima go king Ecnal on all your asses and disrespect the west coast as really most of them dont stand a chance when they travel to play good east schools.

Colorado lost to a 1AA school Montana St.

everything else went as expected today pretty much so far

Posted by Member of X on Sep-03-2006 01:15:

Easy on the East coast bias!!

Oklahoma vs. Oregon coming up... woo hoo. My Ducks kicked the snot out of lowly Stanford today.

Why do I get the feeling Notre Dame is vastly overrated?
