Pvd for some reason doesnt consider canada among his favorable destinations and has only played toronto twice in the past 4 years.

Not to sure about Kyau vs albert but we have an events section that is updated a couple months in advance of an event so feel free to check that regulalry HERE

He went on record to say he loved Vancouver though, which is good for them I guess. He's played at Plush this year already has he not ?

Yes i think he did. Im surprised no one has ever bought up the issue of toronto with him in an interview.

Ya, it's odd. I had the chance to go see him in Central Park on the 18th/19th, but decided to go out west instead.

I haven't been impressed by his performances lately anyways...

Who would hate Toronto?

My guess is politics with the Guv Complex.

There's other clubs out there though...if PvD has such a problem with the Guv complex then why can't he just play elsewhere?

Posted by jon jon on Aug-02-2006 13:29:

Isn't the KH/ Guv the only venue big enough tho? Other venues couldn't afford him.

Posted by infinity HiGH on Aug-02-2006 13:32:

I don't believe that Guv/KH are the only ones who could afford him; let alone the only ones big enough for him. I mean...there's The Docks, no? (or there was the Docks).

Maybe Sonic wants to expand their audience?

edit then again, I forgot he's the "number 1" DJ now so his rate is probably ridiculously inflated...

Posted by jon jon on Aug-02-2006 13:35:

Yeah I forgot about the Docks.

Dragonfly is the new Nightclub that is part of Fallsview Casino. I've never been there, but they have been promoting this club like crazy.
Go to google, search fallsview Casino, and they'll have info on Dragonfly Nightclub.

The club is owned by the same guy who owns the Guv (Charles Kaboul). And he's trying to bring in the heavy hitters 'cause as rumour has it the Guv will be closing around the end of this year so the land can be used for building condos. As for the club, he apparently spent around $20 million building it and I can believe it! It's beautiful and the ceiling is crazy!!! Plus it's a smaller venue (Capacity is 800) which makes for a more intimate setting. I was there for Armin back in July and you can get right up to the booth and shake hands with the DJ! Great club!!!
