Randy Katana - Plastic Fantastic

Hands down to the worst track of the universe...
Randy Katana reworked Spastik and mashed it with Rune's "Calabria". He should be shot for doing this...

Really, this tune pisses me off. How can you do such things
Even the track-title is very inappropriate.

Posted by BZRK on Aug-02-2006 10:16:

Totally agree. After hearing Calabria non-stop for the past 2 years and Spastik and its derivates for the past 10(?), now this joke of a producer comes along and combines the two
That Katana has a thing for crappy remakes was already clear after his "fantastic" Play It Louder of last year, but that topdj's like Armin pick this shit up, scares the hell out of me.

Posted by IgnazZio on Aug-02-2006 10:57:

Totally agree, although it's a floorfiller.
Stupid idea to bring these 2 tracks together... Katana dissapoints me with thin one.

it's a horrible idea for a track and i think randy katana has run out of ideas for tracks nowadays, but strangely this works.

No, it doesn't work, it's just awful.

Posted by InDeepSpace on Aug-02-2006 12:51:

Randy Katana gets worser & worser. I thought that crappy Blade-tune last year was his down-point, but now I think that you couldnt expect anything from him in the future. Hands down!!!!

You guys should be a bit more openminded.
This track works very well on the dancefloor, as did Play It Louder.
Not all music has to be intelligent.

Agreed

This is a great club tune. Armin threw this down and people were going crazy with the drums. I think it was a good RK production.

True, but that doesn't mean that Play It Louder was terrible, and this is shockingly uninspired too.

Yeah "De Kabouterdans" works well on some dancefloors aswell. Your point?

This is just garbage and a fucking disgrace for himself to bring out this kinda bullocks.

My point is: don't get so worked up over this release.

I don't, believe me. I'll just avoid this lame producer from now on, cause he is clearly not capable of bringing out good stuff anymore

I personally love this track! Oooo the power of opinion!

Posted by humilis on Aug-02-2006 20:42:

Play It Louder was from deep brown ass but I think this is very good. Combines two classic tracks nicely

I saw armin 3 times in 5 days and he played this track each time and I hated it more each time i heard it. Complete bullocks of a tune.

After In silence which is one of my favorite tracks of all time, its just been all downhill as far as his productions are concerned.

Posted by smakmagik on Aug-03-2006 08:04:

cant believe

is this the same chap who made 'in silence'
man oh man
i was waiting for something in this track to appeal to me, but there was absoutely nothing...
fucking depressing, unimaginative piece of shit

He will never ever create anything like the Original Mix of 'Fancy Fair' ever again, which is just a Tech monster.

Still really like this, mainly for the catchy sax solo.

Posted by ankdawg on Aug-03-2006 22:50:

I used to love Randy Katana when he produced tracks like Fancy fair, in silence, tribal shock, one solid wave and even pleasure island. but his last two releasesd have been utter shithouse. this one plastic fantastic is worse. Mr Katana is starting to loose it

People have been getting the wrong impressions about this tune.
Randy made this tune purely for fun. It was originally intended to be a mash-up but Spinnin' decided to release it anyway.

His next release 'Sex' is a dancefloor bomb. Wait for that

Most tracks should be made "for fun" and have artistic merit. But if it sounds awful then I have full right to blast it if big-name djs are caning the crap out of it.

lol that is about the lamest excuse there is. I can see Randy wondering just before release... What if most people won't like this crap track?

Ow wait i got it, I just say I made it for fun!

Posted by euphoria on Aug-04-2006 17:37:

This song is absolute $hit! The lead is just annoying and the kicks, perc, and snares sound like kids banging on metal garbage can lids.

I heard this live by the way and myself nor the crowd was very impressed. Armin dropped it. I decided to take that time to go have a smoke and beer rather than be tortured by this crap.

Posted by Mortyman on Aug-07-2006 12:35:

At first I really didn't like this track. THen I noticed that damn melody got stuck in my head for days! It grew on me. It's quite simple, which I like, and the fast rolling snares and drums remind me of Apache-Starfighter.

No way do I think this is a GREAT track, it's alright, at best. But that damn melody, DAMMIT, gets stuck in my head... and now it's stuck again.....

and that's what makes the track 'work'
