name of song on cdj

as i have been burning cd's .... iv noticed that i can only see the wav formatt on the 1000 and the lenght of it on the 800... i cant seem to see the name of the track on it...

then i went out and bought 3 cd singles... thinking that those would show the name of the tracks.. and welll they dont, they just show the wav..... and the time remaining or time passed...

how can i show text on a cd so i can see what song is playing?

the player would have to support cd-text and the cd would have to have cd-text written on it. simple as that really.

and i dunno if any cdjs support cd-text.

find the mp3 on your desktop
right click it.
Go to properties
Click the summary Tab
Enter the artist/title you want to be displayed.
Click apply

Now as long as you burn WITH cd text enabled, it will show on your CDJ.

You also need to use that button to the left of the display to toggle cd-text/wav display (On the 1000 at least).

Kind of a pain since iTunes doesn't even support CD-text (which I use to burn my discs).

I believe the Pioneer CDJ1000 range & CDJ800mk2 will display track/artist name. Don't know about other manufacturers models.

i use wmp to burn cd's and for the love of god i cant find a "burn with text" anywhere. anyhelp?

Posted by Ryan0751 on Aug-03-2006 16:52:

WMP probably doesn't support it...

Nero does.

It's a rather unused function, as it was added to the cd standard long after CD's became popular. There aren't many consumer CD players that can read CD-text, so it's not well supported in general.

whats the best version of nero to.... buy ?

CDJ-800MK2 will display ID3 tag information. It also does CD-TEXT. The original series and the one below current should all do CD-text (probably mentioned already... I just skimmed the thread).

I'm still sticking with Nero6; I tried Nero 7, and all I used out of it was Nero Burning ROM. Actually, that's the only program I use on there, I don't use any of the extras.

Not being able to strip down the installer (I repackage installers for my own backup purposes) from 700MB was a big turn-off. And really, I see no need to update it. Everything I need it to do still works.
