Hahahah, what esle do you want to know?

This was for Andy Moor & Ronski Speed night btw...shit happened months ago... But somehow it was important yesterday when the thread was posted.

The person who turned down the gig is quite obviously bas. I'm sure he is regretting this golden opportunity he could have had...as he opens basic on friday. Fuck

No Bas said "I'd appreciate you not coming to me as a last resort", because why else would he be asked to open in the loft other than as filler. I think some people are failing to see the irony.

I'm sure the loft was happening that night. It was so happening that there are no pics of it at all.

i don't get it

So he turned down this booking becuase of a prior booking at another club or because he didn't want to be the "last resort"?

No he turned it down for x number of reasons. I'll let him post them when hes off work. But its pretty obvious...the major one being...Bas is my best friend.

Why would he play for a guy who is the biggest asshole possible at all times to his best friend? Opening in the loft, for nobody, before heading to Steve Lawler at Avalon.

It would have been pointless.

Apparantley. And since we have no mod its pretty easy to tell who did it.

But it looks like he succeeded in trying to make bas look like the idiot, as some of you were fooled.

I just thought it was really funny, someone pretending to have offered the deal of the lifetime to bas, and SURPRISE, HE SAID NO.

Like wtf did you think he was gonna say.

i dunnno but an offer is an offer. If a person doesn't want a gig, they can decline without being an ass about it.

I don't know, but there really no such as a "last resort" for non-pros. There ALWAYS somebody willing to take a gig.

So is BAS this big name DJ that most people will run to see play at a club?

Here's alittle something if someone is really interested in really becoming a known DJ and getting up there.

A friend of mine, who've I've known now for about 5-6 yrs asked me a few years ago to help hook him up so he could play at Spundae. Well as time was passing, he'd give me CDs to pass out and I continued to see what I was able to do. He'd ask me time to time if I had heard anything.
I continued in helping him but I also told him that he'd have to do some self-promoting himself because there are just too many DJs out there. I finally hooked in up with a couple of peeps and he got his debut at Spundae one night, in the loft.
When I found out he was going to play, I told him that he best fill up that loft with as many friends as he could.
Well guess what? He had many friends that came out to support him. Not only that but he played some kick @SS tracks during his set and believe me, he had the loft packed the whole time with everyone dancing. Everyone was happy with this guy and right away was told that he had a chance of playing the back room.
Well this past Saturday he played again but this time he was opening up in the back room. He was a bit scared thinking he'd be playing for an empty room, I thought the same thing. Well we were both wrong. This guy had a good crowd in that room and once again played some awesome tracks.
It's all about believing in yourself and having friends & supporters if you want to be asked to play and play again. My friend's dream to play for one of the biggest club here came true. It did take time, patience and alot of practice & effort to get what he dreamed of. Not everyone or anyone gets asked to play at Spundae.

Obviously BAS was not confident enough that he'd have any supporters and turned the offer down. The other thing is why do you guys always feel the need to talk shit about promoters or other people involved in the EDM scene? You know attitudes also play a part in this.
