Sean Tyas

Who the hell is he and why is he so popular?

Never heard of that prick

Posted by ShaunLovesHouse on Aug-06-2006 17:48:

He's got some really solid productions. Lift is his newest one I think. ASoT guys are in love with it.

Posted by KyLeGs on Aug-06-2006 18:03:

why are you so confused about his popularity..he's a really good producer imo. there's nothing wrong with it..

Posted by Push2005 on Aug-06-2006 18:06:

Very very crap producer.

He only gains popularity by editing older tracks. That's really shit. Altough "Lift" stands out from his regular tracks, I still think he's overrated. It doesn't take much effort to make edits.

It's just another untalented artist they're trying to launch.
I'm actually not surprised Asot-fanboys are so fond of him :/

Posted by iammesol on Aug-06-2006 18:16:

Even I am in love with his rework of Insigma - Open Your Eyes

Posted by Mr.Mystery on Aug-06-2006 18:39:

He's the cool one to like now. It'll be someone else in 6 months again.

Posted by SPANIARD on Aug-06-2006 18:50:

Releases alot and only 1/3 of it has elements of quality. 1 of the producers that I see something in but he should just take his time making 1 production every 3 months instead of 3 productions ever month. Same thing really for O'Callaghan who ironicly has a very similar sound.

Posted by isoterra on Aug-06-2006 20:26:

great technical producer. lots of power & energy behind his stuff.. but some of it sounds a bit samey

thought it was only insigma he did that to?

Posted by miamitranceman on Aug-06-2006 20:32:

I like his remix of Duderstadt - Muhanjala. What a banger that one is!

Posted by cherrybarry on Aug-06-2006 20:56:

Mirella is a great track too.

Posted by Numidia on Aug-06-2006 21:31:

Definitely do not agree with the comments that he is a "flavour of the month" type act. He has already proven he has the talent to be a mainstay for many years to come.

As usual when someone pays their dues and finally gets some success the bottomfeeders and haters start slagging them, very predictable.

Posted by nefardec on Aug-06-2006 21:44:

haven't been bitten by the sean tyas bug yet. i don't know - sound is nothing new to me or something

Posted by Blakey on Aug-06-2006 21:44:

His rework of Mirella <3

Posted by Ryarni on Aug-06-2006 22:08:

Gaining popularity by re-working good tunes, what a stupid statement! Sean Tyas is an excellent producer, and if he wants to change a track to suit his sound, then all power to the guy.

Posted by Elyksir on Aug-06-2006 22:45:

mirella, remember, on your mind remix = quality

Posted by erdega on Aug-06-2006 22:45:

the best producer right now of harder trance. If you liked cosmic gate or dumonde at one time , he is a current and improved version to listen to

Posted by R!CH on Aug-06-2006 22:47:

punk'd remix!

apearantly he made a new remix/edit of Legend B - Lost In Love.

I don't understand the hype either. His tune lacks the energy to be banging and lacks depth to become solid.
But I think the current state of epic trance is so poor that people accept any half decent producer and crowns him as the new king.

That's just what it is though. The only reason why you might like the Sean Tyas edit of let's say "Open Your Eyes" is just because the original was so amazingly good and originally produced.

All these edits are as useless as PvD's remix of Wavy Gravy or Tisto's remix of Das Glockenspiel to give an example.
Bah; ban it...

And no this hasn't anything to do with 'haters', because I myself listen to an asot episode from time to time. I hope this hype will be over quickly.

Posted by isoterra on Aug-06-2006 23:39:

they aren't useless. you try mixing the original of open our eyes out of something with the power & energy of the tyas rework & the flow will be killed.. same with the others you mentioned

they preserve the goodness of the original by not changing too much, & just make them fit easier into modern, more upbeat sets

i agree with the depth part... but curious as to what you consider more energetic? (sticking with trance around the same tempo). his remixes of coldfusion, on your mind & punk'd i just think are bursting with energy

oh btw.. like i said in another topic (about joc & kearny - exactly) this kind of trance imo really needs ramping up to ~145bpm to be appreciated properly

Posted by ShaunLovesHouse on Aug-07-2006 00:17:

Sean Tyas is considered hard trance?

Posted by trancedanne on Aug-07-2006 02:15:
