soundcard ?!!!

Hello guys, I was here on this forum some years ago, maybe someone knows me maybe not, I am back because I want to ask all of you somethin. People here were always helpful, except some amateur fools. So my question is, can someone help me with giving a tip for buyin good soundcard ? but the budget is 400euro maximum. Also it is not for the best CPU so take care about latency. Thanx a lot for advices

I ordered the M-Audio Audiophile Firewire, I heard great reviews in this site. The package hasn't arrived yet so I can't really tell you my opinion.

Take a look at M-Audio's line of soundcards and pick one that fits your budget and your needs.

buy soundblaster live, its cheap and good. you are not a producer so you dont need better one.

Unless your doing any production/mixing like that on your PC. Your intergated soundcard on your mobo is probabaly good enough (providing you bought your motherboard in the last 1-2 yeas, or a new computer) if not, then you could look into a simple Audigy Card,

This: http://www.ncix.com/products/index....Creative%20Labs

with:
http://www.ncix.com/products/index....Creative%20Labs
or
http://www.ncix.com/products/index....facture=Klipsch

Will get you some nice sound.

Even then, that soundcard is still a little bit ridiculas (no games or actual mp3s take 7.1, unless you watch DVDs on your comp). So you could downgrade your soundcard to a 5.1 or lower end card and get the Klipsch 5.1 setup.

if you want superb sound quality

echo indigo dj pcmcia card

m audio delta 44 is a nice cheap pci one with 4 ins and 4 outs. it doesnt have preamps or phantom power or anything like that but you can buy a seperate audio buddy which will do that. 24/96 sound quality, decent buy if you ask me. better than these usb an firewire jobbies that try and cram it all into one thing. the preamps on them are often crappy unless you spend alot of money. ive got a 1010 and its great.

You could get a Maya 44 or M-Audio card to start out, but if you really want an awesome card that can't be beaten get an RME or MOTU.

Posted by Zombie0915 on Aug-07-2006 23:01:

I ordered a delta 44 today

RME's look to be beyond your budget, I want one of them, but I figure it isnt worth it until I practice some more.

I you are on pc I recommend the e-mu card. My friend has one.
There is nothing like it in that price range on the market.
It has professional a/d and d/a chips and sounds great. Stunning value for money sound card!
I don't have it cause I am on a PowermacG5 but if I was on pc I would get one
Simply put you will not find anything that sounds so good anywhere near that budget...

I use one of these when playing out on ableton

its a superb card... the only downside is its a little cpu hungry

other than that.... its well worth the cash

Once again thanx a lot to all of you, yes RME is the best I think, I am going to buy one myself soon, E-MU is amazing ( low price ) great quality, but it takes a lot of CPU, so I choosed DELTA 66 for my friend, because he will need some of I/O...

thanx a lot again
