nostalgia
"Every generation thinks its first exposure to something is the best that something has ever been." (Ishkur)
This is basically why there is a 1999 vs. 2006 trance war. If we had some caveman bangin out a tribal track after being struck by lightning, he'd say that's the best EDM there will ever be.
It has absolutely nothing to do with musical quality, but rather, human psychology.
kthx!
great quoite.
caveman, haha.
ishkur is my hero
Re: nostalgia
I wasnt exposed to 1999 trance first. I started listening to it around 2003 yet I find the 90s to be the peak of the genre and everything since on a steady decline.
I dont even find 99 to be the peak. maybe in terms of popularity bit in terms of quality Id say 97 was the last great year...maybe 98.
People quote Ishkur now?
