Pretty clever in the way they broke up the lines so you only notice the Fs that are the first letters in a word. 'Scientific' tipped me off.

The 3 f's I missed were in the of's. I've seen this thing before, and I'm pretty sure the point of this "exercise" is to show that we recognize letters based on pronunciation: "of" is pronounced as "ov". When quickly reading through the message, we do not pick up those f's.

so if I read three F's in this does that mean I will get alzeimers becasue I counted 6

I have gotten this in an email before and the reason why people don't count all the F's is cuz you don't see the F's in the word OF. You only see the others that are in longer words.

edit: oops.. the explaination was already posted. So much for reading all the replies before posting

Another way to look at it is that I "neglected" to see them, and didn't "forget" them b/c I didn't see them in the first place...hahaha
