NEON Loves Piknic w/ Steve Bug @ Piknik Electronik - Sept 4th

THE OFFICIAL STEVE BUG THREAD!!!!

STEVE BUG
http://www.pokerflat-recordings.com/

Producer and full time artist, creator of microhouse label Poker Flat, Steve Bug from Hamburg is one of the most important figure for the kind of music called microhouse. Steve have started approaching electro-music since the end of the 70s and go clubbing until the dawn in the mid 80s completelly absorbed by that music he used to find amazing. In the first 90s he started Djing and soon he was producer and owner of Raw Elements Record label. If that aint loveIn a few years he got so many things to publish he decided to break in two parts the label Dessous and Poker Flat, one for a classical deep-house and old-school electronic, the other for the already mentioned microhouse and weird tunes in general, just to pioneer music! Some names produced by him are Mrtini Brs, Hkan Lidbo e Jackmate to who eventually added Martin Landsky, The Glowing Glisses, Jeff Benett and many more. In the following years he really travelled the world clubbing everywhere and trying to discover new talents, beating more the little clubs than the big ones. In his career he has released more than 5 albums which always signed his success and talent as a producer and songwriter whos everyday more demanded to produce or remix stuff. And even though all this job he has to do, Steve dosnt want to forget about his first love, clubbing and Djing. Theres no way you can bring him away from a dancefloor, as a Dj or just as a guy who wants to have fun.

Brilliant! I had such a fucking blast! We got there early, at like 2:30, started drinking our beers, we had to pour them all into cups because we couldnt take the bottles into the party haha that was ok though...

I met some really cool people and I dances like CRAZY to the Thomas Von Party's set AND Steve bug, who tore the ROOF of this outdoor venue... The first DJ mark was good, but I wasn't feelin the last dude so much, after bug's minimal trip, his electro sounds weren't workin for me. I love love love love love Neon and outdoor parties!

Maybe some of you saw me there, I was the one dancing practically the whole time in the front in camo pants and a black redbull t shirt or black sweater with sunglasses most of the evening. I met one of the organizers for neon, justin, who seemed like a really cool guy and them putting on this party makes me want to go for 2manydjs and Tiga on the 19th.

Fucking brilliant. I will have pictures soon!

I LOVE NEON!

It always takes some time to get into the vibe of a city, but at this party, I just did what I normally do. I found my groove and just danced. I like to think im past all the "shit". If the music's making me dance, I dance, If not, I wait until it does make me dance.

This party had the sorts vibe I would see in South America or Europe- people danced like they meant it.

Probably... However, my friday did include lots of drunken craziness on St Laurent and Circus for Creamer and K...

So...

Wasn't a total loss.

it was a fun day

Posted by X-Cube on Sep-05-2006 04:02:

steve bug was sooooo good! miam!

Jordan dare did a great set too!

Posted by Mitsutranza on Sep-05-2006 21:40:

steve bug was truly sick.. there were 4 tracks in particular that made me go innsane and mental...
Thomas Schumacher - Red Purple
2 tracks that I don't know the name of yet (Victor spins one of them so i will have it soon, and it's soo damn good and the other i don't know when i will find it but i will not stop until i do, it's brilliant)

and finally, and this was by far the topper of the day, THE classic moment...

Petter - Some Polyphony

pffffffffffffft, i thought only petter and holden had this track but it might be getting a release i guess....either way, it completely threw me off and surprised me in the best possible way, what an amazing song and on that sound system...ouufffff.

Glad I went, but I sat out Jordan Dare...he completely changed the vibe and started spinning different style which i really didn't enjoy, like at all, hard rock/electro with those fucked up vocals that annoy more than amaze...

Bug was siick.
