Official Bundesliga Thread

For are lovely German TA's and fans of the bundesliga. Quality league with quality teams dominated by one but many are flourishing like German football is after the World Cup.

I support Bayern but with my favorite youngster Kompany at Hamburg and Frei @ Dortmund I will be supporting them too but really the German league is just fun to watch for me Ill let the real whores of Bundesliga do the talking.

Fun league where games seem to result in lots of goals. A bit of an under-rated league perhaps, they're clearly the 4th best league in Europe - France, Holland and Portugal are IMO nowhere near.

I don't really support a german team, sympathise a bit with Bremen and that's it, i also don't mind Bayern winning in Europe.

I was thinking to start this thread earlier this year, good someone did it.

This season will be really interesting.

Hope bayer leverkusen do well this year. Cant see them winning but hope they make the champions league.

How good is Werder Bremen this year.

They look great really will chalenge Bayern and maybe Hamburg (once they get their act together only 1 match though)...

Diego lifted that mid-field alot really enjoyed watching them at the weekend

Posted by Elior on Aug-15-2006 07:45:

Diego was just hungry for football. Great game by him, and a beautiful goal by Klasnic.

Posted by noikeee on Aug-15-2006 13:07:

fucking Adriaanse had to waste Diego for us

even Hugo Almeida is looking good in Bremen

Posted by InterMilan31 on Aug-15-2006 17:45:

He worked really well with Frings....Diego really could be the midfield playmaker for Bremen.

Bayern and Dortmund looked sluggish in the match both had great chances but I think they will both miss Rosisky and Ballack for thier midfield playmaker. Both have great squads of course going to be a great league this year IMO.

Bayern will get a problem in midfield this season. They brought Podolski and van Buyten to Munich but no midfield players.

I don't think they will be champiosn again this year. Bremen will be too strong for them. With Diego, Frings, Borowski and Klose they have awesome offensive weapons and with Naldo and Mertesacker they now have a strong defense too.

Behind Munich and Bremen I see a bigger group of teams fighting for the CL and UEFA Cup qualification:

Hamburg, Dortmund, Leverkusen and Schalke all have a lot of potential and great squads. I think they will have an interesting fight for places 3-5.

I hope Hamburg will do well this year but I have my doubts. With van Buyten and Barbarez they lost 2 key players.

With Kompany and Boulahrouz we still have great defenders, but van Buyten will be missed as a character that pushes the team.

Barbarez had 10 goals and 16 assists last season and I don't think our new forwards Sanogo and Guerrero can replace him.

It will be a tough year for the team. They are soooooo young and have a lot of potential but no real go-to-guys than can carry the team.

And if we don't make it into this years Champions League (and it don't look with with 0-0 against Osasuna at home) there will be a lot of trouble here

Mmh.... yeah BUT:

- here in the Bundesliga you have no Abramowitch or Agnelli family who put all their own money into a team, so teams EARNED the money they spent on players

- here in the Bundesliga no team BUYS the championship like Juventus did

- here we have the newest state of the art stadiums

- here we have BY FAR the most people attending the games in the arenas... only the NFL has more people in their arenas

At least we are not like England or Spain where the leagues are pretty good but the national teams always suck... and always loose against Germany

I know i know, will try to keep my bitching to a minimum here

I can appreciate some clubs though, like you said Hamburg with Van der vaart and Kompany (and pienaar i believe?) is building a really attractive team.

Pienaar plays at Dortmund.

Werder Bremen will be very interesting to watch in todays game against Bayer Leverkusen. Diego has been sick lately

YEEEEEEEEES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hamburger SV qualified for the Champions League!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pienaar is ment to be the replacement of Rosisky he has huge boots to fill sad since I dont think he is talented enough.

Diego is the next big thing for sure. I was shocked when Porto sold him so freely.

nice match tonight lets see if Diego and Bremen can keep it up

Posted by fcuk on Aug-28-2006 09:38:

I don't mind the Bundesliga at all, its good to see some teams finally challenging Bayern for the title. Shalke 04 and Werder Bremen are two strong teams that I believe can win the Bundesliga this year. Last year Bremen showed a great performance of almost knocking Juventus out of the Champions League and all through the bundesliga aswell. I dont underestimate the german teams when it comes to Champions League they have the quality to win.
