Originally posted by DeRangedMind Funnie you say this because you will still see people doing liquid and take out the glowsticks with strings. Also when me and few people came up to New York for Ferry Corsten @ Avalon in 2004 my friends were owning the dance floor, that when I knew people didn't know to dance jack shit in NY.
I still love glowsticks and photons and I don't care what any of you say about me. I bring them with me to most events but there are times when they aren't permited, it depends on the venue and security. It's fun to meet others doing the same and form a circle and show some skills. Unfortunately that rarely happens these days.
The most recent times I can remember was the Ferry Corsten private party @ Cielo and before that it was last year for Nu-NRG & Markus Shulz @ Spirit but even that time security eventually came and broke it up and confiscated some sticks.

Originally posted by ReenTeenTeen That is the whole point when it comes to glowsticks. It all begins with the fact that glowsticking at a venue is considered dangerous to the venue owners and promoters because of the "Rave Law" that states that glowsticks are a sign of a rave and therefor a drug use environment that carries a $250k fine too. That's why glowsticks get confiscated at an event.

Originally posted by euphoria I do know why they are confiscated so the explanation was not necesarry, but thank you for clarifying. I dont agree with the law.

That girl is named Despina.....i used to know her back in the late 90s/early00s...
Her and her man can dance amazingly....they can go from Funk styles to Liquid to Popping to Locking to Tutting as well as House dances....they know their shit.
If you went to to Roxy, Limelight or Exit back then, you surely saw her.
Not to mention she is one of the coolest persons you will meet in the scene.

Originally posted by euphoria I am not sure where you got that from, but I am assuming you have never went to a massive in any of those countries. There is a decent majority of members on this board with those nationalities which I am sure would dispute that comment.

Which are the hot places now?...I'm dying to come back home. I need to get a fix of some wicked dancing...minus the sketchiness. I hope it's not true that NYC no longer have any good dancers |

Originally posted by barosoap Talk about flashback... Yes, I remember meeting Nurse Glow out. Her entire crew would wear the racer jerseys. Nice group of people. I think she's actually a trained dancer and model too.

Originally posted by barosoap It's completely different now. You won't find many people doing liquid or glowsticking in major clubs anymore. The likes of the Liquid Pop Collective are pretty much extinct. The majority of club goers don't really see dancing as an art form that actually requires skill and practice. On one hand you don't have obnoxious battles anymore, but on the other hand really good dancers aren't showcased as much.
i enjoyed it, although i could never really do it all that well it was nice to look at. i hate the scene these days, i really do
