For some reason, the promoters are only giving them ONE HOUR at their show in Toronto, Sept 1.

I'm arriving around 8pm on the 2nd in Montreal, so I might just have to check this out!! How much do you think cover will be?

nice booking! Montreal is alive and well with the names playing these days.. just not at my favourite former techno club.. hehe

probably won't go this though - Barbara & Steve Bug is enough for me in one long weekend.

yesssss
looks like we are starting to get events with people who have a clue about the trends in music today.

Orchestra of Bubbles by Ellen Allien is one of my cd's of the year.
this is not one to be missed and i am happy we finally have something good for labour day after the CREAM bullshit

REVIEW_

ELLEN ALLIEN & APPARAT did a excellent LIVE ACT with laptops and microphone. Ellen did few songs on micro while Apparat took care of music.

2 rooms was available, main room had more hip hop influences until 2am with Ellen and apparat shows up,the second room had electro music. The second room gave satisfaction to people who was looking
to dance on electronic music.

I was happy to be there,ELLEN ALLIEN & APPARAT was so good! After Miss kittin, I add Ellen Allien to my favorites!

Some TA's was there? Jesteraver? anyone?

I went, had a wicked time. One of the best shows this year. Uffie didnt have enough of a crowd to get the party really going, shame cause she has talent but her rhymes are kind of simple. But she is incredibly sexy when she's up on stage.

Sebastien, DJ Medhi and Busy P were fucking insaaaaaaaane... holy shit the place was going off. It was crazy the vibe in Club Savoy. Rocking the Ed Banger tunes all night, Justice - Waters of Nazareth.. siiick...

Went back and forth between Ellen Allien & Apparat and the Ed Banger room, Ellen Allien & Apparat were doing an amazing live set. It was crazy good, the only thing was they couldn't land on the beat after they built up their crazy breakdowns and peaks. Steve Lawler is truly the master of that, but oh well. They had everyone dancing like mad, it was great. Ten minutes before the set was over, Apparat's midi controller crashed and the music stopped. He lifted it over his head and smashed the midi controller on the stage, total rockstar move. It must've been a 2000$ piece of equipment, Ellen Allien had the look on her face of "WTF did you just do???"

All in all, great double bill, only complaint was that it ended at 3am, with the vibe in that place, it could've gone all night easily.

Ya, what a night.

I spent the whole evening in Club Savoy because Sebastien, DJ Medhi and Busy P wearing tearing shit up.
They did a tag team the whole time, and by the end they were just destroying the place.
One of the best parties I've been to all year actually.
Ed Banger Records fuckin' rocks.

I moved to the Metropolis when Ellen Alien started and they were playing an excellent set as well.
Too bad Apparat's midi controller broke cuz I'm sure they would've continued past 3am.
