Re: Your Dj's

those are only the three biggest names tiesto, armin, and PvD, of those three, armin is really good, but they'll be a set i love, but then the next one is just "nothing special"

old school PvD Kicks Ass, his new stuff doesnt have me interested anymore.

Sasha - this guy is cutting edge, awesome dj, he will put a set together like no one else, the mixing there is quality, with all the technological advances available these days, he can put a track together on the fly, just assemble one right there on the spot, as if almost from nothing.

Ferry Corsten - have you heard criemfields mixed by ferry corsten? not the hugest fan of the new album though, but his sets throughout 2004 and 2005 kicked ass every single one of them. his music almost sounds like it has a sharp edge to it. its fantastic.

Yoji Biomehanika - Music thats so hard it can kill you.

Speedy J - together with Chris Liebling )and even solo) this guy can rip it up, he'll have X number of samples going at once, and manipulate sounds so well to mix perfectly with others its like a sense or instinct for him, watch him mix, its incredible stuff.

Eddie Halliwell - Awesome awesome awesome - just incredible at building up a track, never seen him live - YET - sure as hell will when he comes by, his sets are definately worth a listen.

Christopher Lawrence - his sets are just so unique from other sets, i cant put my finger on it, but to me theres no one who can spin the same sound christopher lawrence can, his music just seems to be so new everytime you hear it, it just sounds so unique.

Jon O' Bir - another one of my forever favorite DJ's awesome at mixing trance tunes, never a boring set, always new, the mixing there is so pefect

Sander Kleinenberg - A M A Z I N G (enough said, my sander rant would be 5 pages if i wanted it to be)

other notables: Carl Cox, Sven Vath, Mauro Picotto, Johan Gielen, John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo, above & Beyond, Smith and Pledger...etc etc...the list goes on forever...

oh and next time

If memory serves, the DJs that have 'ripped the mother****** up' so to speak -

Dennis Hahn
Tygon
Aaron Joseph
DJ Tab
Above & Beyond
Stephen Kroos
Matt Hardwick
Mark Oliver
NuNRG

Off the top of my head, these are the ones that have knocked me sideways.

+ 70million for ferry. the energy and style of his sets completely does it for me. i will be the happiest girl in the room at LoL for his set.

above&beyond- my first time at the guv was for above&beyond, and i couldnt stop smiling for days. their track selection is great. i'm never disapointed when i hear from them.

Ferry Corsten - simply the best vibe, energy, & crowd every time I've seen him

DJ Dan - no one else sounds like hm & the crazy track selection keeps a serious groove going all night

Oakenfold - Canada Day 2002 - oh my lord what a party ... the master killed it for over 7 hours... & now even his little 2 hr spots are still sweet, & at Decadance 3 he showed he's still brilliant when he feels like it

Correction...you'll be the second happiest! Step off my territory biotch!

Anyway...reasons why I like Ferry?
His productions and remixes...amazing...old AND new. They convey such emotion - and not just the big epic trancy ones like Gouryella, Wallhalla and such.

His diversity in what he produces and spins. From ambiet, to trance, to electro, and now even with an electro house spin on things.

His love of Toronto and the Guvernment being his favorite place in the world. By far my favorite night of my partying life still is, and probably always will be when I saw Ferry Corsten at the Guv in March 2004. He was supposed to spin a 4 hour set and Mark kept trying to get on the decks, but Ferry just shook his head...he was having too much fun...and spun for 8 hours!

His energy when he spins. How into it he gets. Always having a smile on his face and big time crowd interaction.

His devotion to his fans and how friendly he is to them. Mingling with them, coming to pre-meets on occasion. "Remembering" who I am (hopefully he's not lying! haha) everytime I talk to him, and of course the *kiss*.

His passion for the music, putting his heart and soul into what he produces and spins.

His talented mixing skills.

His taste in Philipino women

Who are you kidding? She'll be the happiest, because you'll give in to your secret desires to hear Hernan in the main room

If Armin were spinning in the KH maybe...Ferry...no way.

Second last time I saw him in New York (the first time I met him), when I had VIP and was up on stage for a lot of the night...the first hour or so after I met him, I was standing at the front of the stage in utter shock. Nada, Cale, Laura & Spitty had to form a protective bubble around me b/c I couldn't move. People were coming up to me saying "So how was it to finally meet him...and I would just stare at them with a grin on my face"

yes i been listening to ferrys sets recently such as his essential mix and nature one...AMAZING...lisa loo your so right

Fuck these big name DJ's, we got the shit right here in Toronto for house. Im really feeling Simon Jain in the last few years. And of course Miss Blue, Jelo, Deko-ze......we got it all. Why do I like them? Because the track selection is my taste. When I shop for records or DL tracks, I always think I got something special, then I hear these DJ's play those tracks in the clubs, so ya, we think alike.

For techno, Dave clarke is the man, and I like a little preach, beyer, simms, varella, umek, Sven Vath.....etc....

Drum and bass.........Black sun empire, ronnie size, pendulum, and Dj Aki are what Im feeling these days.

<------------MY #1 Favorite

Down to earth DJ/producer and always delivers with his sets. Only too happy to promote him for South Florida.

Ferry Corsten - Remix of Force of Gravity, hit single Galaxiaaaaaaaaa and is also another down-to-earth person. More Aliases than my lil sis Mel has clothes.

Yoji Biomehanika - like someone else in the thread said, this guy KILLS it.

Blank and Jones - Classic trance continues...

Marcel Woods - NASTY HARDtrance.

PVD circa 1999 - 2005. This year, not to my taste whatsoever.

That is all.

DA
