The TENNIS THREAD

Why not creating a tennis thread to talk about any tennis tournament, even if it more appropriate to create a new one for each Grand slam.

So... in the ATP Master serie of Toronto :
Federer for the win,
Nadal was beaten by Tomas Berdych yesterday, this player from czek is really impressive.
Blake was beaten too early in the tournament by the frenchman Richard Gasquet, this player got a huge talent in my opinion...

My opinion, no real problems for Federer in Toronto this year

I like the ATP/WTA-thingy, a lot better than my suggestion.

Go Jelena!

Good win by Federer today. Was a bit worried when he was down a set.

Posted by Laughingfennec on Aug-15-2006 08:20:

Same, he made a lot of unforced errors, but gasquet played some amazing shots in the first set, and despite the numerousous unforced errors it was a great final.

Roger got 7760 points, more than Nadal + Ljubicic. LOL.

that is absolutely crazy and i don't know if being so good is great for tennis

Now it is more interesting because there is Nadal who can beat him, and if you watch Federer's matches, he's less easy than 2 years ago (except in wimbledon )
but a lot of people said Nadal will go number 1 soon and we see here that Federer is untouchable for number 1 place ! anyway i'm sure some young players will be able to beat him more soon, like Berdych or Gasquet, but all i hope is that Roger wins Roland Garros in 2007, it would make him the best tennis player ever, and he surely has the most complete and impressive game i have ever seen. I watched Sampras, who i liked a lot, but he had some weaknesses in his game, Roger has almost no weakness in his game.

Andy Murray gives Federer his first straight-set loss in 194(!) matches
