Review: Tiesto @ Dragonfly Niagara Falls Aug 12th 2006
Amazing.
So i guess im the first one home!? I may as well post a lil review before i get my ass to work. I made a roadtrip with a a friend of mine, we got to Niagara at around 5pm, ate some delicious ribs @ Planet Hollywood. Went to the casino and lost some money! However we did get some pretty strong drinks. i think every drink they poured was 3/4 alcohol. Casino Fallsview is my new favourite spot. Walked into Dragonfly at aorund 11pm. The lineup went pretty quick we were in within 10min. First impressions.....
Amazing. Very nice place. Lights on the cieling. Sufficient Bars. Sound was crisp. Friendly and sexy staff. Tijs came on at around 1am. Dropped bombs all the way through the set. Party in the Moonlight dance till sunrise... by far the highlight. It was good to see some familiar faces. Nada, Karim, Gina....
Overall very good night.
Its 6: 45 am, going to work in 2 hours. I need a shower.
Way out West - Mind Circus (Gabriel and Dresden Remix)
I went off, still smiling when I think of that tune, makes me go back to the docks winter 2004 all over again.
So we awishabear and Andrea get to Niagara just after nine, check out the big fountain thing in the casino, go to denny's for some food. I'd been craving dennys for some time now, there isnt' one in guelph
we get into dragonfly pretty quickly just after ten. The bouncers and staff were very nice. Did anyonen else notice that Interesting person with the suit though, I couldn't figure out if he was a scalper or if he worked for the club.
Watched MO play, I didn't get to into his set much, seemed like a roller coaster ride for myself. Tiesto well he's tiesto, brought quite the vibe into the place that didn't leave the whole night. It was packed until closer to three when there was some more room, but was packed for the most part. We left just after three, hopefully we didn't miss to many tunes.
overall a good time for a sunday, now back to work for the rest of the day
It was nice to see some familiar TA's again too.
Great night out @ Dragonfly!
Gonna keep it short and sweet. Tiesto @ Docks > Tiesto @ Dragonfly. BUT none-the-less I had an amazing night. Loved some of the tracks Tiesto dropped, but some I was not impressed with. Great seeing some of you out last night. Finally, going to the parking garages I stopped by the casino for some water at which point I recognized Tiesto's manager and had a quick chat with.
Videos to come soon...
>>>PICTURES<<<
I missed it...*sigh* but glad to hear it wasn't better than the Docks
...anyways, my first time missing Tiesto in the region EVER!

- Absoultely amazing time during MO and Tiesto! Got close enough to touch him at the front!
And I know some you guys must have some awesome photos! I've never seen Tiesto that close up before. Unfortuntely I didn't get a chance to bring my camera.

Well.....Tiesto was much better this time around then last year....it was a good way to end a very long weekend.
I still really dislike the Tiesto crowd though.....they completely ruined the vibe for me and this just solidified my position that I don't want to see Tiesto in Canada again.
I also found the crowd to be extremely sketchy.
As for the club....very nice design however they need to make some changes.
1. Have some seating areas outside the VIP area and Bottle Service Area. They could have easily set up some seating just inside the doors.
2. Organize the smoking area so you don't have to wait in line again and be searched every time you come back in. They got better by the end of the night.
3. I know they want to be a classy little establishment but broken beer bottles all over the floor is a huge liability factor....the lawsuits I can see just piling up when someone slips and falls and looses an eye.
I definately won't be running back to the club anytime soon. It is a nice looking establishment and I found the staff to be friendly and helpful.....even saw some of the bouncers bouncing along to the beats....which is nice to see....shows me they are enjoying themselves.

My jacket that I actually went all the way to Magik Records for has actually been signed and I left happy (minus my feet fucking hurting as all hell from wearing heels ) |
mother ****** shit fuck, i was in Niagra that same day, at the fallsview, right in front of dragonfly, but couldnt go cuz i wasted all my money in cuba, and the ticks where sold out, even when i was outside having a smoke and hanging around inside the hotel ALL I HEARD WAS TIESTO TRACKS.... what a fucking tease!~!!!!!

I had a blast. The last hour of Tiesto's set just blew my mind. The begining of MO's set after tiesto, was just awsome. I am totally sold on that dude, he is the bomb.

Didn't want to start a whole new thread for this...but thought it was pretty cool - from the Tiesto newsletter

| Dance4Life ambassador Tisto has released a special anthem for the Dance4Life charity organisation during the 16th edition of the International Aids Conference in Toronto. For this special project, from which all revenues go to Dance4Life, Tisto collaborated with Maxi Jazz, the lead singer from Faithless. Last Sunday, Tisto premiered the Dance4Life anthem during the official opening ceremony of the 16th edition of the International Aids Conference in Toronto. Alongside artists such as Alicia Keys, Pink and speakers like Bill Clinton and Kofi Annan, Tisto showed the world why he became the worldwide ambassador for Dance4Life. Tisto: The way Dance4Life engages young people around the world to do something about the HIV/AIDS problem is very powerful. They offer young people an attractive way to make a contribution and reward them with a spectacular event. The combination of serious content and entertainment assures that Dance4Life gets young people on the move. For this special project Tisto collaborated with Maxi Jazz, the lead singer from Faithless. Maxi Jazz, known for his vocals in hits such as Insomnia and God is a DJ, has written the lyrics and did the vocals especially for this single. From today on, the single can be downloaded from www.msn.nl/tiesto and it will have a worldwide release within several weeks all over the world. All revenues from the release will be donated to Dance4Life! The Dance4Life anthem aims to reach as many youngsters around the world as possible to involve them in pushing back HIV/AIDS. |

what a night..at first i got really annoyed by all the pushing...i just never saw Dragonfly in that state so it was annoying...but later in the night i kinda just started dancing my ass off and decided to stop caring so much...and moved to a place with less traffic
he played house tracks! lol
I liked his song selection
did he play your loving arms??? I was dying to hear that song but didn't
Vadim - I couldn't believe he dropped Depeche Mode!!!!
it got pretty hot in there...im pretty sure it was over 600 people! lol
my feet hurt from the heels maaan..Nada I don't know how u do it girl!
I had fun overall

PS: Did anyone record his set at all?
Would be nice to hear

tiesto is such a great dj, i still can't believe he spins house now lol.
He brought the bombs all night long, twas a great time.
i really enjoyed the first track it had some "dance4life" vocal in it, i thought that was pretty cool.
unexpected tune of the night was pete heller - simpler.
The crowd could have been a little less pushy and annoying but whatever i chose to ignore it and have a good time instead.
nice seeing everyone out!
p.s. they need to fix that sound system. so distorted in area, my ears were crying this morning.
