Good stuff. The synths sound good. I like the bass. The whole thing is very 90s. C64? Is this to a game?

OMG COMMODORE 64!!!

That machine still holds my heart to this day. It produced some of the best melodies and synth sounds EVAR.

Unfortunately I'm not familiar with this tune in particular. Sounds great though! I'd be interested in hearing some of your other C64 work though.

C64 stuff? Gimme

Posted by KilldaDJ on Aug-18-2006 13:55:

thanks for the replies guys

@ alanzo : im not sure if this is to a game or not, but it was definately made on the c64, im pretty sure it was used on a demo on the demoscene many years ago though

@ david/chris : if u wana hear more of my work click here and here, im afraid they sound all the same though

cheers

peace

ohh my god! I remember this song so good

nice work. could need some more work on the mixdown!
could have been fun with some more C64 sounds

Overall, very nice!

Posted by KilldaDJ on Aug-18-2006 14:46:

haha cheers, i must admit im awful at mastering/mixing down tracks but im producing with bog standard headphones (pair of sanyo ph200n)

i was going to introduce the SID sounds in there but i lost the quadraSID synth so i never bothered with it. i think it turned out ok though

peace

thats pretty cool, though u sampled the original, i was thinking of actually recreating the SID sounds

nice bit of engineering though, let me know how u get on with that

What's wrong with them? This sounds great. I feared something minimal microwave-ping-ish thing...but this is great, makes me really think back to the good old catchy game-tune days.

You should do something proper with this, publish the full thing or slap some bitch-label around and get it released...in any case get it out there!

Posted by KilldaDJ on Aug-19-2006 11:40:

ah cheers mate, i dont think anything is wrong with it as such, sure the mastering of it is a bit piss poor but fuck it LOL

after all, it is only a fruity loop jobby with monitored with shit headphones (not much i can do about that im afraid, im skint)

im glad u enjoyed it anyway, im still in the process of looking for nice C64 tunes to remix and maybe knock out an album soonish

i would send my tracks off to digital labels and such but i just dont trust them.

they will be like 'oh a nice little banger here, lets just release it under a completely diff artist and name'

i wouldnt have a clue about it until i hear it commercially played or something so thats why i only post samples and if i do post the whole track, i'll post it a 64kbps mp3, i dont have a problem with doing that

Posted by KilldaDJ on Aug-20-2006 14:07:

a digital blonde huh? i'll do a few lookups on their tracks and i'll make my assessment

be sure to check out the other tributes too!

Posted by Subtle on Aug-20-2006 15:17:

great synths, cool melody.. production is ace.. a ur a bit greedy on the bit rate, but it sounds good.

Posted by KilldaDJ on Aug-21-2006 14:53:

ah cheers for the reply

192kbps is suffienct isnt it? i already explained why i wouldnt post the whole track as 192k as i would just get ripped off :s

Any of your C=64 remixes on R.K.O.?

Such a pitty Edwin is no longer with us. I really enjoyed his SIDs. May he R.I.P.

umm no but i'll be sure to check that one out cheers

it is a sudden loss of a legend, he made so many good SIDs, excellent composer on the C64

Edwin you will be missed mate

Reminds me of old tellic communications / K90 stuff.

I love this track to bits, the melody could be seen as a bit cheesy but well its from a C64, its meant to appeal to everyone not just my fussy ears

Awesome workout of a track, like it a lot.

Posted by KilldaDJ on Aug-23-2006 15:51:

thanks adrian for the generous words im glad u enjoyed the cheesy sounds
